The Grid is in dire need of upgrades throughout, hurricanes continue wreaking havoc downing aging power poles, industry 4.0 is a data and power hungry beast that is showing no indications of slowing down. Big government has started releasing more money to do upgrades despite the current cost of money. Combine all of these things with a shrinking skilled electrical trade labor force, and the supply and demand signals indicate that folks who do have the skills will be paid very well for their expertise. Many get training via the military or a 4-year degree, both add up to a lot of obligation and money... BUT what if I were to tell you there is a place located in Hamlet NC where books and tuition all in is $3300 bucks for 2-years (no housing or food so you still have to figure that piece out) and will set you up for a successful career in the power industry? With many areas paying between $60-$80/ hr for Protection & Controls (P&C) techs I would say that is a pretty decent ROI. If that sounds intriguing, then join myself, Trinity Stanley, and Brian Terry as we discuss Richmond Community College's Electric Utility Substation & Relay Technology Program (EUSRT). Relay and apparatus testing not your thing? They also offer a 14-week, 8 hour/day Lineman program for $650 dollars!!!! https://lnkd.in/gTaipQ7b Thanks again to Trinity and Brian for allowing me to highlight the program! Quick note, there were a few captions I missed where it called the program EEUSRT... Apologies for that. If you have any questions about the program, feel free to connect with Brian and Trinity, they are truly passionate about what they do and are always happy to help!
