Donate to the John B. Cade Library today! It's no longer just for books. It's now an active part of the University community, offering various ways to access resources, including technology options. Feel free to use the Innovation and Research space, Training Center, Student Café, or one of the three Computer Labs. You can also explore SU history and significant events related to African American culture and history through the library’s Online Archives Collection. Although the library’s mission remains the same, our strategies for fulfilling this mission have evolved to meet the needs of the SU community. https://lnkd.in/guR5TBxR #MarchWithUs and donate toward #SUGiveDay2024

International Day of Mathematics 14th March 2024 - how you can change young people’s lives. The International Day of Mathematics is a worldwide celebration where all countries are invited to participate through all activities for both students and the public in schools, museums, libraries and other spaces. This year the theme is: Playing with Math! How you can be involved! There are many opportunities to get involved, individually or as a chapter. From supporting with calculators, to sponsoring a workshop or taking part in school activities. Why would you get involved? BNI Australia and BNI Foundation Australia believe and support the BNI core values. Imagine the impact you could have on a child, classroom or school, just by one small act of kindness. Here is an example of what the Foundation provided to one school with the support of BNI Beyond and Jeanette Cahalin of Challenge Office Supplies, we were able to donate Scientific Calculators to 12 Buckets, a charity supporting children in schools. #BNIFoundationAustralia #children #education #charity

🚨 #GovsGive2024 Update 🚨 We're still going strong until 7:27 p.m. today, March 13! APSU Department of Communication Professor Mike Dunn shares the impact of funding on student experiences: "Funding helps us to give students hands-on experience, so when they go into the job market, they're able to do so much more than maybe students who didn't have the opportunities. The funding allows students to spend more time in labs or spend more time in the radio station or in an art studio or whatever they do on campus. I think that gives them the power than when they go out to Industry to be able to really show what Austin Peay can do for students." Support our students' growth and future success by donating now at https://lnkd.in/emTZR5_3! Every contribution makes a difference. #GovsForLifeExperience

Without it, young people are at risk of missing out on crucial learning opportunities and falling behind compared to their peers. The cost-of-living crisis has only added to this pressure. Now more than ever, your support is needed. https://gofund.me/835aec3a Q: When is donating money to a fraternity a sensible decision? A: When higher education is under attack from extremism on every side fueled by a mass media and social media landscape that promotes conflict in order to weaken our institutions. When there is finally a push for the middle. When there is real optimism and progress toward bringing everyone together and putting the unity back into community. When there is a spark of hope that we are turning this thing around and returning to the values that make our country great. When we recognize that we are all stronger together no matter what our individual beliefs and that we owe it to one another to come together while respecting and embracing the issues that divide us. When we start to realize once again that diversity is a superpower and the American democracy is built upon differences in culture, differences in beliefs, and differences of opinion. When you realize that the institutions in our country that promote individual thought and academic freedom are the basis of our strength. When you see that our children are finally emerging from the cloud of Covid and learning again how to socialize and share their lives together. When you stop to remember how much the fraternities, teams, groups, organizations that were foundational in your college experience shaped the rest of your life. When it really matters. In other words... today.

It all started in 2014 when a group of UCF students committed to use their knowledge for impact. Through the power of teamwork and ingenuity, the students produced a 3D-printed bionic arm for a child living with a limb difference to give the child a new sense of hope and confidence. But, their work didn’t stop there. After witnessing the way the bionic arm shaped the child’s personal identity, the students made a life-changing decision: their mission would be to empower others through accessibility technology. Ten years later, the same students have donated 40 bionic arms to children with the help of over 160 University of Central Florida interns and five full-time staff members. What started as an idea at a kitchen table has transformed into an innovative research facility called Limbitless Solutions. Limbitless Solutions, a nonprofit direct support organization at UCF, works to empower individuals and increase accessibility through interdisciplinary teamwork and expressive technology. Our growth is the result of the support of those who have believed in us - and today, on #UCFDayofGiving, YOU can help further our impact. 💛⚔️ All donations made to Limbitless Solutions help our Student Scholar Program - which consists of undergraduate students from across UCF - and creates more magical moments for our bionic kids and families. 🦾 We imagine a society where bionic arms are as common as glasses or braces - with your support, we can make this happen. Friends and colleagues, in 2021, the Kalamazoo Community Foundation recognized that traditional scholarship application timelines, including our own, didn't help students who were facing an urgent need that threatened their ability to complete their academic or trade programs. At that time, we started the Emergency Scholarship Fund, which helps students at critical junctures get the financial support they need while connecting them to our general scholarship resources for more sustainable future support. Half-completing a program doesn't offer much benefit in this world, especially with the accumulation of loan debt and heavy attention to credentials. All year long, this scholarship seeks to address the gap to keep students on track--and it's not limited to universities; colleges, trade programs, and certifications are all supported. Whether it's an overdue tuition bill, a testing fee, textbook costs, course fees to maintain professional licensure, or something else, this fund can help. We've received national recognition for this program and are actively fundraising for it during the month of April, as a generous donor has offered a match of $50,000. Please consider donating to help us raise $100,000--or at least introduce your local community foundation to this innovative model. https://lnkd.in/dmZTCEFm And for those who like numbers: This Emergency Scholarship Fund (ESF) has a pronounced impact on BIPOC students, as over half of our applicants and awardees are BIPOC. 20% of our ESF recipients are single parents, and over 90% of those who received the scholarship were still enrolled or graduated. 66% of recipients were more than halfway through their program, and over one-third were within a year of program completion. Most of us know that typical scholarship support dwindles in the later years, making this scholarship all the more useful.
