The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s (PTC) Fiber Optic Design Build Project 2.5 spans 11 miles from Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s Central Administration Building in Harrisburg, PA to the Gettysburg Pike interchange at State Route 15 in Mechanicsburg, PA SA Connects Pennsylvania, a joint venture of Southland Holdings and Aecon Group Inc. Energy US, is self-performing installation of fiber optic cable using our Tesmec CleanFast truck to microtrench, microduct conduit placement, junction box installation along with restoration, fiber cable jetting, splicing, and testing. Critical to the continuity of the network is the fiber optic cable that SA Connect is installing inside the Susquehanna River Bridge, this connects the Turnpike’s eastern and western networks from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. This broadband network will increase bandwidth and boost connectivity between the PTC’s administrative buildings and support automated tolling capabilities, among other advanced telecommunications applications for improved safety and mobility for the public #BuildingGreatThings #fiberoptics #turnpike #broadband #construction #engineering

They say, there's an inner power generated within after accepting you are not fully aware of something but trust me, not from cable pulling, my friend. The worst cable-pulling plan is; The power of neglecting to measure the entire route area on-site, results in an inaccurate assessment of the required cable distance + slack length + splicing length. As a result, One may discover that the cable is insufficient for the entire route, leading to the need for uninstallation of the old cable, capturing and planning the route distance, acquiring a new cable(assuming all cores are okay), and reinstalling it. #projectplan #projectmanagement #fiberoptics

Title: Choosing the Right ADSS Fiber Optic Cable: A Brief Analysis When selecting an All Dielectric Self-Supporting (ADSS) fiber optic cable for power line communication, consider the following key factors: Application Environment: Assess the specific conditions such as weather extremes, proximity to power lines, and the possibility of physical damage. Tensile Strength: Ensure the cable's tensile strength can withstand the environmental loads, including wind, ice, and temperature variations. Dielectric Performance: Since ADSS cables are used near high-voltage lines, choose cables with high dielectric strength to prevent electrical discharges. Installation and Maintenance: Opt for cables that facilitate easy installation and require minimal maintenance, reducing overall operational costs. Reliability and Longevity: High-quality materials and construction are essential for longevity. Look for cables with a proven track record of reliability. Future-Proofing: Consider the potential for network expansion and choose a cable that can accommodate future upgrades without replacement. In summary, the choice of ADSS cable should balance performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness while aligning with the specific requirements of your power line communication infrastructure.
