Row, eat, sleep, repeat! Let’s see how things sit after week two of the #Pacific24 row... 🥇 Liz and Lena: Currently leading the fleet towards Kaua’i, Liz and Lena have really benefited from choosing a more southerly route! 🥈Wild Waves: Charlotte and Jessica have been climbing the leaderboard. Like many other crews, knockdowns seem to be the norm, but they’re staying positive and focused. 🥉Salty Sappers: The crossing has been filled with drama for the sappers. They've had to deploy a drogue, battle knockdowns, and deal with a rudder issue. 🚣 Pacific Triow: The girls are going strong, despite some brutal days resulting in several knockdowns (where the waves move the boat to a 90 degree angle towards the water surface and capsizes). 🚣♂️ Hericane Rowing: A few brutal days led to an EPIRB activation (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon, used for distress signalling and locating, crucial for alerting search and rescue authorities). The team capsized, but they were prepared, kept calm, and are back on track. 🚣♂️ Human Powered Potential: What stands out from this team is their strong team spirit: crucial when undertaking the challenge of rowing across an ocean. Not even two hatches full of water have ruined their spirit! 🚣♂️ Full Foarce: Despite a strong start, this incredible team have begun to slow down. Sore, tired, and cold, the team recently experienced a capsize, ripping off two of their rowing seats. This scary incident caused them to spend some hours on para anchor, while carrying out repairs. 🚣♂️ United Row: Anna and Jenny might be closing off the fleet on the ocean, but the current ETA suggests all teams will arrive in Kaua’i within just a few days of each other. I use to have a serious fear of flying. I use to think to myself there is no way I will ever get on anybody plane. The anxiety was real. The thought of being thousands of feet in the air just truly scared me beyond words. ✈️The very first time I flew on a plane was in 2021. I’ve been flying coast to coast ever since. Thank you @lakisarenee 🌟My adventurous Sister helped me conquer my fear of flying and has been a huge support in each traveling endeavor. Now I just loveeeeeeee to fly. So much that I be sleep like a baby on a plane (Don’t judge me lol). So calm, at peace, and relaxed. 🛫🥱😴🛬 Conquering my fear of flying allowed so many iconic possibilities and opportunities.🙌🏾🎊🛫✈️🛬My first plane ride was to Atlanta, my most recent plane ride was to Los Angeles. To anyone who has a fear of flying like I use to please feel free to contact me for pointers.
