Happy National Caregivers Day! I am part of the leadership team of our Kohler BRG called PACK- Parents and Caregivers of Kohler. Today is "our" day because it is a day to recognize those who spend countless hours, days, years in service to others around them. We've been spending time talking about resources that Kohler Co. offers to support caregivers and how we as leaders and peers can better support each other. This past week, we got to hear from a fantastic speaker, Jennifer (Crivello) Ott who reminded us that there is so much value in having a caregiver in your organization. Some things that I, as a caregiver, have learned through my experiences as a mom, wife and daughter that translate into my success in the workplace: - Time management- if you've managed the schedules of school-aged kids, you get this. - Ability to step outside of defined roles and rise to any challenge - Conflict resolution- mama bear will do anything for her kiddos. - Managing stressful situations What other skills have you learned as a caregiver? Next time you're working with someone, be sure to consider how their caregiving duties make them a valuable asset and let them know you see them and support them.

It was such a joy to spend 3 days with our friends and colleagues at the Together We Care Conference this week. We had an amazing time networking, learning and having fun! A big thank you to OLTCA and ORCA for another fabulous event. Some key takeaways: 1. Person-centred care means transforming our approach and offering seniors choice and flexibility, and fostering meaningful shared relationships between residents and staff. 2. Innovation is crucial as our boomer generation ages into their senior years. 3. Language matters. Let's evolve towards more inclusive terms like "living" instead of "care" and "spaces" instead of "beds" to create a stronger sense of home for our residents. 4. It's essential to create senior living spaces that we, ourselves, would want to live in. 5. Huge shoutout to Jesse Lipscombe for his inspiring keynote! “We all carry invisible backpacks. How can you make someone else’s lighter today?”. As a People & Culture Partner, we look forward to future collaboration offering solutions that will drive positive change for a healthier aging experience for all! 🌟 #TogetherWeCare #HealthyAging #CollaborationForChange

🌟 Celebrating Our Positive Clinic Culture! 🌟 At Ivy Rehab for Kids, we believe that a supportive and affirming workplace culture is the foundation of exceptional patient care. One of the key elements that makes our clinic special is our Coworker Affirmation Board. 📝❤️ This board is more than just a space for sticky notes and messages; it’s a testament to our commitment to recognizing and uplifting each other. Here’s how it works: 🔹 Daily Affirmations: Team members can leave positive notes and words of encouragement for their colleagues. Whether it’s a simple “Great job on your presentation!” or “Thank you for your support today,” these small gestures go a long way in boosting morale and fostering a sense of community. 🔹 Celebrating Successes: We use the board to highlight achievements, big and small. From professional milestones to personal victories, every success is a shared celebration. 🔹 Building Connections: The affirmation board helps us connect on a deeper level. It’s a daily reminder of the incredible team we have and the collective effort we put into making our clinic a welcoming place for both staff and patients. Our culture of positivity and support doesn’t just happen; it’s cultivated through intentional actions and a shared commitment to each other’s well-being. This affirmation board is just one example of how we prioritize a healthy, happy work environment. 👏 Let’s continue to support, uplift, and celebrate each other. Together, we create a clinic culture that’s not only productive but also profoundly positive and inclusive. #ClinicCulture #PositiveWorkplace #TeamAffirmation #EmployeeWellbeing #HealthcareHeroes #TeamSupport #WorkplaceHappiness

In 2016, VillageReach started an internal process and structure for addressing how race, culture, identity, gender and geographic location played out in where power sat in the organization, how we engaged with each other, and how we engaged with communities and stakeholders. This was very staff driven, led by some incredible internal people at the time (Jodi-Ann Burey, Anna Volbrecht, Erin Larsen-Cooper, Evan Simpson, Vidya Sampath) and many, many others in the years that have followed. We have changed so much as an organization since then - where our technical expertise lies, where our leadership sits, and where decision-making lies - all look pretty different today than they did in 2016. And our work in diversity, equity, inclusion, wellbeing & belonging have all contributed to those shifts. But we also know that we need some help - since we've changed so much, we need to take stock and push ourselves to consider what the next steps are for continuing to support the diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace that is so important to VillageReach. If helping us understand our internal landscape to chart an updated path sounds exciting to you, please see the consultancy below and help us spread the word. https://lnkd.in/gQBvi8Vt
