This past Sunday marked the ninth anniversary of NASA’s New Horizons flyby of Pluto after an epic 9-year journey. On the morning of July 14, 2015, Southwest Research Institute’s Dr. Alan Stern (center), New Horizons principal investigator, was surrounded by the mission team as they viewed the first post-flyby images of Pluto. Stern continues to lead the spacecraft’s extended mission. New Horizons will continue gathering data over the next four to five years until it’s expected to leave the Kuiper Belt. #TBT #NewHorizons #Throwback Courtesy Bill Ingalls/NASA

#onthisday in #tech #history -- December 21, 1968 🗓️ Integrated Circuits Used in Moonshot 🚀 The Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC) was responsible for guidance, navigation, and control computations in the Apollo space program. The AGC was the first computer to use integrated circuit logic and occupied less than 1 cubic foot of the spacecraft. It stored data in 15 bit words (with one parity bit) and had a memory cycle time of 11.7 microseconds. Astronauts communicated with the AGC using the "DSKY" (Display Keyboard). It used digital displays and communicated with astronauts using verb and noun buttons, and a two-digit operation and operand code. 🤔 The AGC and DSKY form part of The Computer History Museum permanent collection. I help Personal Brands land more Clients by using AI to Find Leads and Qualify them so you can focus on Closing Deals and growing your Brand
Creating and building your own agency is really a difficult thing. Especially if you're in it alone. Many people give up after a few weeks or months. They had no idea what was waiting for them and what would have happened if they hadn't given up. Only the most persistent will succeed in something, as time goes by and things in business become more difficult, the circle of people who have made it that far narrows. I don't like to compare myself with others, I recommend that you compare yourself exclusively with yourself. If you have the desire to start your own business, your own agency, whatever... Know that the road will be difficult and sometimes uphill, but worth the effort. If you want to bring your business to the best stage this year, you must do it by introducing Artificial Intelligence into your business. By doing so, you will reduce the time and money spent on some jobs so that you can focus more on others, you will introduce novelty in today's world where everyone is competing, and you will certainly jump out of the competition. If you are interested, schedule a free call with me, and find out how your business can experience unimaginable success this year. Waiting for you! #ai #artificialintelligence #aiadvancements #business #businessautomation #success https://lnkd.in/dcH4pYVe

While you are reading this, a battered and bruised Odysseus lies on the surface of the moon, not quite dead yet. The Odysseus Moon Lander, a project by Intuitive Machines and supported by NASA, encountered a hiccup upon landing near the Moon’s south pole, tipping onto its side due to one of its feet catching on an obstacle, possibly a rock, crevasse, or slope. Despite this setback, the lander remains stable and capable of sending back data. Efforts are underway to maximize scientific return from the mission. #SpaceExploration #OdysseusLander #MoonLanding #NASA #IntuitiveMachines #InnovationInSpace #SPACE_CAFE_PODCAST full list of episodes: https://lnkd.in/e_fNTYwA #IntuitiveMachines #MoonLanding2024 #ArtemisProgram #LunarExploration #SpaceInnovation #CommercialSpace #NASA #SpaceTechnology #NewSpaceEra #SpaceScience

Kessler Syndrome: "As the population of debris continues to grow, the probability of collisions that could lead to potential damage consequently increases. This idea is also based on the observation of a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) space debris expert Don Kessler, stipulating that once past a certain critical mass, the total amount of space debris will keep on increasing; collisions give rise to more debris and lead to more collisions, in a chain reaction. Associate Professor at Stanford University; Founding Director of Space Rendezvous Lab (SLAB) and Center for AEroSpace Autonomy Research (CAESAR)
Given its #success and #healthy status, the #NASA #Starling 1.0 mission has been extended all the way to December 2025 as Starling 1.5. Under a new #award from the NASA Small Spacecraft Technology Program, (#SSTP), the #Stanford Space Rendezvous Laboratory is developing #StarFOX+ for the extended mission phase. As part of StarFOX+, we will demonstrate increase performance and brand new capabilities of the Angles-only Absolute and Relative Trajectory Measurement System (#ARTMS). Besides applying all the precious lessons learned from Starling 1.0, ARTMS will include in real-time and on-board: 1) #Datafusion with inter-satellite ranging across swarm (4x 6U CubeSats) 2) #Identification of unknown resident space objects crossing the field of view 3) #Auxiliary state estimation, including clock-offsets and force model parameters 4) #Newalgorithms for fast short-arc orbit determination 5) #Adaptive measurement and state noise compensation The opportunity that NASA and Starling are giving us are almost incredible. And we are ready to make #disruptive changes to the #stateofpractice! For #flightresults on Starling 1.0 check: Kruger, J., Hwang, S. S., D'Amico, S.; Starling Formation-Flying Optical Experiment: Initial Operations and Flight Results; 38th Small Satellite Conference, Logan, Utah, August 3-8, 2024. https://lnkd.in/d4zyaKph

Have you ever wondered when you're watching a launch, how everyone knows what to say and how to say it? Sounds so smooth, right? Turns out it's practice, practice, practice! Today the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center PACE Team is performing one of many Launch Rehearsals meant to train us on how to act on a nominal day of launch, as well as when things go wrong. Teams are stationed at most of the various locations that will participate in the PACE launch seen below! 🚀 🛰 🌎. GO PACE! #nasa #launchday #practicemakesperfect #teamwork
