I used ChatGPT to analyse 89 Luke Matthews Posts. Inspired by Farouk Bacha, here’s what I discovered about crafting compelling CTAs: ⏩ 93% of Luke's posts included at least one CTA. ⏩ The most common CTA placement? It's the middle of the post (58%), followed by the end (32%), and occasionally at the beginning (10%). CTA placement matters more than you think. Mid-post CTAs have a higher engagement rate, because readers are already invested in the content. In terms of CTA types utilised: ⏩ The "Comment below" type is the most utilised, appearing in 68% of posts. ⏩ "Share if you agree" or similar prompts for sharing were used in 42%. ⏩ Calls to "Follow for more content" were noted in 38% of the posts. Diversify your CTAs. While asking for comments is effective, mixing in share and follow requests can broaden your post’s reach and impact. I also measured the complexity and length of CTAs: ⏩ Simpler CTAs, containing 5-7 words, enhanced engagement by 22% over longer ones. ⏩ Direct and straightforward CTAs surpassed more complex or vague ones by 28%. Keep it simple and straightforward. A clear call to action is more likely to be acted upon. The power of personalised CTAs was undeniable: ⏩ Posts with tailored CTAs, such as "Want 5 Prompts to help you create content faster?" experienced a 33% higher interaction rate. ⏩ Personalising the CTA by the reader’s profession or interest markedly improved relevance and engagement Personalisation is key. Tailoring CTAs to your audience’s specific interests or professions can dramatically increase their effectiveness. How To Increase Views And Engagement By Adding Images To Your Social Media Posts With ChatGPT (Hint: It Takes Less Than 5 Minutes) According to the Content Marketing Institute, content with relevant images get 94% more views than content without. And, a study by BuzzSumo found that Facebook posts with images get 2.3x more engagement. Up until 2022 my wife and I would spend thousands of dollars on professional photoshoots and lived on our phones attempting to capture “moments” that we could post alongside our Instagram captions. Not only is visual content more engaging, but it’s also a prerequisite for social media platforms like Instagram. Even on platforms like Twitter/X or Facebook where you can publish text-only posts, the stats are clear that posts with images (or videos) get more views, more engagement, and have a higher likelihood of being shared. ChatGPT is great for content ideas. But you shouldn’t just ask for “{number} post ideas about {topic}.” That'll give you generic results. Let’s get more specific. Try these 5 prompts:👇 🤖. Problems "I create content for {description of audience}. Give me 50 problems that this audience might have. Include a mix of practical problems and emotional ones." This will give you the problems. Then, you can create problem-solving content. 🤖 Questions "I write for {detailed description of audience}. Give me 50 questions that they might have about {niche/outcome}. Mix simple ones and in-depth ones." This will give you an FAQ. Then, you can create question-answering content. 🤖 Write Like {Influencer} "Write me 10 social media posts that {famous influencer in your niche} would write. Make them all about {number} words long, and pick the topics based on what that person often talks about." Don’t copy-paste these. Just use them for inspiration. 🤖 Write Like {Post} "This social media post did well: {the post}. Identify the factors that made it successful, then come up with 20 post ideas that have the same factors. Make the post ideas distinctly different from the original.” Simple and effective. 🤖 General "I write for {detailed description of audience and what they want}. Give me 50 ideas for posts that deliver actionable tips. Focus on specific strategies, not motivation or mindset." This is general, but a bit more specific than typical prompts. Finally.. I’ve been experimenting a lot with content lately. Not only has it been fun but a lot of learning on what to cut off and what to double down on. A couple days ago I decided to test this new strategy I figured on my Personal Instagram account. I was merely cross posting the video content to Facebook so I expected the results of the strategy I was implementing to come from Instagram. About 48hours down the line, the content had only a good engagement on Instagram, no leads. But over on Facebook it had the lowest engagement yet brought in a quality lead. What do you think was wrong? Not as you guess! When it comes to social media content, the results are mostly unpredictable for new strategies and Here’s why you should never really just overlook any platform or kick off without test running your strategy and content. 📌 Begin with a list of platforms to explore. Sometimes the most “overlooked” platform produces the best result for your brand. 📌 Enjoy content creation to unlock your unique strategy. ( Okay, now that sounds like ChatGPT 3.5 🙄) Well, What I mean is 😆 Make your content process an adventure not a rule! Have fun with it. It doesn’t have to be one pattern all the time. I personally have a problem with brands who like to do just one thing and never give room to try new stuff. Explore! Become adventurous with creating random style content as long as it aligns with your brand voice until you find the one that works for your audience best because sometimes what you think they want, isn’t what they need. PSA: social media managers can tell when you copy/paste AI-written social content... and it's not long before your audience will start to pick up on it, too. And before you hit me with "well, so what?! If it's accurate and complete, who cares if I used ChatGPT to draft it?"... hear me out. AI as a thought starter is awesome, but the human touch is irreplaceable in building actual trust with your audience members. AI-generated captions might be (mostly) right, possibly pithy, definitely hashtag-optimized, and even include a CTA... but it's still not human. And that DOES matter. It is an intangible thing that others can pick up on, even if they can't say for sure what that 'thing' is. Social content is already so.... unreal. It's text on screen. It's a flat graphic. It's curated moments in video. That is to say, it's already a challenge to reach through the screen and, truly, one to one, CONNECT with your audience. Why make that even harder to do by removing the human touch? Don't you dare skip the last step of reworking and revising with your actual, non-LLM-generated voice. Trust me.
