The Spanish national team rarely advanced into the French final third through dribbling. However, long passes from Laporte, Cucurella, and Rodri helped the Spaniards effectively move the ball towards the opponent's goal. The primary target for these passes in the final third was Iñaki Williams, who received 7 passes.

Quick Euro round of 16 recap - Switzerland vs Italy - The Swiss sliced through the Italian Provolone with their Swiss knife tactics. Italy was powerless in this one and Switzerland will be a tough challenge for England. Germany vs Denmark -Mother Nature, VAR controversies; in the end, Germany won. Then VAR called one off and gave another. Germany needed some luck but earned a deserved win in the end. It was a close one. Let's see what the Spanish can do against the newly rediscovered German efficiency. Spain vs Georgia - Thank you Georgia for a heart-fought and well-deserved run in this year's Euro. Spain was too big of an opponent, yet you never gave up and kept pushing til the end. Spain is the frontrunner to win this, at this point. However, Germany and Spain will clash. Spain has the upper hand in this one. England vs Slovakia - England had another howling performance that made your teeth cringe. Slovakia played to their abilities and almost scored a second after a Pickford howler. (we all wanted to see that one). Last-minute heroics calmed things down, and England escaped a close one. Southgate is to blame, once again. His strategies and changes are questionable on a good day; mostly horrendous on an average day. On a positive note, he found Palmer on the bench.

Let's talk football for a minute. The beautiful game, played across the globe... 🥱 Stay with me a moment. During Sunday's England vs Serbia match, Cesc Fabregas dropped a really important point, twice: "We lost to Switzerland in our opening game before going on to win the World Cup in 2010." For those who don't know, Fabregas was a midfield player for the legendary Spanish national team that WON the World Cup in 2010. So why was his point was important, you ask? It's a crucial lesson that transcends sports. The road to success, in any aspect of life, is never a straight line. It's riddled with hurdles, setbacks and gut-punching defeats. Yet, too often we expect perfection from day one. The more we work at it, the harder it can hurt. We treat the slightest bump as if we've "fallen off the wagon" entirely. Imagine the world showcase, the big expectations and… you fluff it. The Spanish team didn't let their opening loss derail their dream. They regrouped and kept on going. The truth? Our plans can be perfect, but there will be off days. We will slip up. Circumstances will conspire against us. That’s life! It can be hard to remember, when you are up to your eyes in the emotion, the disappointment and the despondency that... You haven't failed until you quit. I try embrace the journey, with all its twists and turns. Treat bumps as mere hiccups, not total derailments. Regroup, reassess and push forward, just like Spain did. The choice is ours and sometimes, it’s the bumps in the road and what comes of them makes the journey most memorable. #SelfWorth #VictoryfromDefeat #Football
