Transporting artwork globally can be a headache - risks of damage, high shipping costs. There's great potential for AR to bring art directly to the viewer, wherever they are, for both functional and experiential purposes. Take The Met’s “The Met Unframed” as an example - bringing the museum experience into homes. It’s a start, but we wonder, why isn’t this the norm? Artists, galleries, and museums can address challenges such as high shipping costs, risk of damage, and limited reach by leveraging AR to: 🌍 Expand audience reach globally 🏠 Let buyers visualise art in their spaces before purchasing 🎨 Transform static art into interactive experiences Want to know more? Helping Museums and Cultural Institutions Curate Immersive Experiences | Project Management | Hiring Expert | Content Curator
What makes a museum exhibition unforgettable? The secret lies in the art of storytelling! ✨ As someone who has curated a few exhibitions, I’ve learned that storytelling is key to engaging visitors and making history come alive. Here’s how we do it: 1. Craft a Compelling Narrative: Every exhibition needs a storyline that guides visitors through the experience. Whether it’s the rise and fall of a civilization or the journey of a single artifact, a good story captures attention and evokes emotion. ❤️ 2. Use Multiple Mediums: Don’t just rely on text panels! Use videos, interactive displays, and even VR to create a multi-sensory experience. This keeps visitors engaged and enhances their understanding. 🎥🖥️ 3. Include Personal Stories: Highlighting the human element behind artifacts makes them more relatable. Who made this pottery? Why was this painting created? Personal stories make history tangible and real. 👥 Want to learn more about how to create captivating museum experiences? Stay tuned for my next blog! 🙌🏻 #Storytelling #MuseumExhibits #VisitorEngagement #CreativeCuration #Museums #ArtHistory #CulturalExperience #EducationThroughArt #InteractiveLearning #HeritagePreservation #linkedinblogs

Emmy award-winning creative executive working at the intersection of art, technology and culture. | Founder: Bluecadet, Futurespaces and Artwrld
A prototype from the Bluecadet project Flow for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, an immersive, entry experience for an exhibition of Netherlandish art. The room-scale experience pairs landscapes with soundscapes, using camera sensing and projections to reveal layers of content as visitors move through the space. Orienting a visitor to an experience is in art unto itself. A lot of museum experiences start with either a big panel of text or alternatively a linear intro video to orient the visitor to the experience. The MFA wanted to do something different, to create something cinematic but also interactive. And interactive but not requiring touch. To deliver content but not compel visitors to stand to read long blocks of text, to deliver key information, to set the mood and to keep the traffic from piling up in the entrance. One of the affordances of making this interactive is we get to test and iterate. We can play with the speed of how quickly things animate on, how dense or long the information is, text size, position, etc. It’s all code, so it’s easy to tweak, test and iterate. The link to the case study is the comments. See if you can spy the difference :) #prototype #museum #experiencedesign
