Artemis 2 astronauts simulated a day in the life on their moon mission!🧑🚀 It was valuable practice, as three of the Artemis 2 crew told Space.com at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in early May prior to a launch attempt here for Boeing's Starliner spacecraft. "One of the things that we've wanted to do as a crew is to start getting everything together that's going to be in the vehicle and start looking at how we're going to manage it," Jeremy Hansen, a mission specialist with CSA, said in staff office at KSC's press center. (His crew members say the simulation was his idea, although Hansen didn't take credit.) "The training team did a great job," Hansen added. - - - #Space #spaceze #artemis #moon #nasa #spaceship #spacex #spacestation #universe #astronomy #astronaut #stars #spaceshuttle #explore

It's GO TIME! Vibration Testing of the Sierra Space Dream Chaser! The Dream Chaser space plane is the first-ever winged commercial space plane that will open shared access to space and international collaboration for all humankind. The multi-mission space plane fleet is designed to transport crew and cargo to low-Earth orbit (LEO) and can be customized for both domestic and international customers for global operations. Dream Chaser joins Sierra Space’s cargo module, Shooting Star™, which arrived at the NASA’s test facility in November. The two vehicles are set to be stacked in launch configuration and undergo rigorous environmental testing, starting in the Mechanical Vibration Facility (MVF). The tests will subject them to the extreme conditions of launch vibrations on the world’s most powerful spacecraft shaker table – a three-axis, 6-degree-of-freedom, servo hydraulic, sinusoidal base-shake vibration system – designed, engineered, and built by Team Corporation and controlled by a Data Physics Corporation Multi-Shaker Controller with 80 input channels that can be used in any combination of Control, Limit, or Measurement channels. #vibrationtesting #vibrationcontrol #nasa #aerospaceengineering https://lnkd.in/gY6FyFh9
The stage is set for the reveal of Dream Chaser in full launch configuration atop the world's largest vibration table at NASA's Armstrong Test Facility in Ohio. More to come. #SierraSpace #NASA
