Formed in 2022, the AIC, a group of #marketresearch & #UX professionals working to make consumer research more accessible for the entire population, will continue its work as part of the IDEA Council. Last week, I had the great opportunity to participate in the ADPList Community #BeMore conference, which was an enriching experience! Learning from industry experts about various design facets was enlightening and inspiring. Here are a few talks that left a lasting impact: 1) Inclusive Design: Unleashing the Inclusive Design Mindset by Victoria Simansjah Victoria's insights shed light on the importance of considering inclusive design with cultural influences and behaviours, particularly in the South-East Asian context, when making design decisions. Understanding extreme needs and their impact allows us, as designers, to create more inclusive and effective products. 2) Don’t Delay Design: Understand the Business Value of UX by Sharanya Ravichandran Sharanya's talk emphasized the pivotal role of designers in driving change. Leveraging analytics and observation to comprehend customer behaviour is critical to crafting practical and highly usable designs. Validating with customer feedback is a surefire way to derisk innovation and create well-thought-out products, saving valuable resources. 3) The Future of AI is Human-Centered by Prashanth Shanmugam Prashanth's talk focused on making AI more human-centred. He emphasized the need to determine whether AI adds value to your product and provided recommendations for catering to different user needs. Understanding natural language, image recognition and the importance of personalization were key takeaways. Setting the right expectations, acknowledging limitations, and providing opportunities for users to interact with AI in a familiar and friendly UI are crucial. People X AI is the way for the future!
