Don't let your nerves get you worked up! Here are some tips to keep you calm during an interview: 1. Come Prepared- Do your research, practice prior, and write down questions. The more preparation you have the more confident you will be. 2. Plan Ahead- Have your resume prepared and printed, have your clothes set out prior, get a good night sleep, ensure you know how to get there, and arrive 10-15 minutes early. The more things you can take off your plate prior reduces the number of things that could go wrong prior to the interview. 3. Think Positive- Focus on what you want to convey about yourself rather than what the interviewer is thinking. 4. Breathe and Take your Time- Everyone gets nervous so take a deep full inhale and take your time to formulate your thoughts. Sometimes interviewers will intentionally throw out random questions to see your reaction or test your thought process. #letsgetajob #jobsearch #jobhunt #jobopening #resume #job #hiring #employment #tipsandtricks #nowhiring #career #HR #recruiters #candidates #resumes #jobtips #humanresources #staffing #staffingindustry #apply #recruitmentsolutions #recruiting #talentmanagement #jobs #staffingagency #jobsearch #interview #newjob #careeradvice #opportunity #applynow #jobhunting #recruitmentagency #jobseekers

When you go into an interview, it's never a "cast in stone" experience. We can go up to the hiring manager level and then we are asked to wait for the updates for the next steps. This is where the "silence period" comes in, not knowing if you pass or not or if they are already cooking a job offer for you. If you're recruiter is a good one, he or she will surely give an update anytime soon but there are some (not all), who never keeps you in the view of what's happening at the back end. Nevertheless, the question now is how do we wait? Do we get more interviews or do we just wait and see what goes next? I believe the balance comes into doing two things - still be open to explore and ask for updates from the recruiter. Give it two days before sending an email or a message to keep you posted. It's never a concern to ask for updates and at least proactively asking for one would mean you are really interested on the role. How about you, what's your take on proactively asking for updates on your job application? Is it a yes or a no, and why do you think so? #recruiters #recruitmentjobs #workculture #workculturematters #jobinterviewtips #interviewtips #jobhiring #nowhiring #workexperience

Executive Director, HR Search & Recruitment at Frazer Jones | Connecting Top HR Professionals with Leading Organizations
I'm sharing insights gained from preparing HR job seekers for interviews at all levels through my work at Frazer Jones. Here are some common questions I receive along with my advice: 1. When addressing why you're leaving a negative work environment or dealing with a toxic boss, focus on what you're moving towards rather than what you're leaving behind. Speaking negatively about past employers can reflect poorly on you during the interview process. 2. Prepare for behavioral questions by having examples ready of both successes and failures from your work experience. Ensure your responses are detailed yet concise, demonstrating ownership of mistakes and showcasing what you've learned and how you've improved. 3. When it comes to asking questions during an interview, view it as a professional conversation to mutually assess compatibility. Tailor your questions based on the conversation and the interviewer's role. Questions should naturally arise, but if not, it's totally fine to ask questions towards the end, keeping in mind the different questions you might ask a CEO versus a peer. Interviewing can be stressful, remember in its simplest form, it's an opportunity to explore an exciting new path, be prepared and stay positive! #jobinterview #careeradvice #HRtips #frazerjones #jobs #careers #interview #recruiting #hiring

💭 Happy Monday!: Some thoughts on how to #interview #candidates: 👉🏻 The last person you interview is not at fault for being the last. For that person, their #job #interview is their moment and their #opportunity, and they deserve to be listened to with the same #attention and #enthusiasm as the first person we interviewed. EMPATHY! 👉🏻 If you already have about 3-5 candidates that you think are suitable, DO NOT continue with the interviews. Do not waste precious #time and do not make others waste it if you already know who you would like to fill the #position with. Do not generate false hopes. Nor fall into "analysis paralysis"; it's likey that you won't find the perfect candidate, and new #resumes that you will like are always going to come in. Look for someone good enough and stop looking for someone perfect, seriously! 👉🏻 Someone who is in #jobsearch, surely is not only interested in your #company, so if you take too long to give #feedback on how the #recruitment process is going, it is most likely that when you want to contact them, they have already been roped in by another #organization. Don't say I didn't warn you, as this happens very often and it's not that surprising! 📙 🤝 👩🏻💼 Human Resources Human Resource Planning

INTERVIEW MISTAKES - 4 Talking Negatively about Previous Company Even though you faced troubles in previous organization, you don't need to be too much open in sharing that during an interview. Constant nagging about it might highlight you as a tough one to adjust Instead, you should focus on what learnings did you get in that company and how it helped you to improve your skillset. Being optimistic is the best in such cases. What positivity you have taken from there should be main highlight when asked Do let me know your thoughts about it in the #comments Also, if you want to reach out to me, do send a request on Topmate, the link is on my profile. Self-belief & confidence are essential in a job interview, but maybe not for the reasons you think. Employers value people who believe in themselves because they offer resolutions, not complaints. They say "I can find a solution" instead of "this can't be done," driving them to tackle problems head-on. They mentor and uplift others, speaking with authority, calmness, and enthusiasm. Highlighting this quality in yourself, backed up with real life examples, can set you apart in interview scenarios. 🏆 Another perhaps slightly unanticipated reason confident candidates stand out, is their willingness to admit when they don’t know something and ask for help. They understand that facing challenges and constructive feedback is all part of the journey. This resilience is invaluable in successful teams and new roles. Showcase these qualities in your next interview, and you’ll demonstrate why you’re an asset to any potential employer.
