Two advantages of recording your media on DVDs are that they do not deteriorate over time and are unaffected by magnetic fields, which can erase a VHS tape.

Continuing my #100daysofcode challenge. Created a buffer interface for displaying a waveform with svg, which was my first real inclusion of graphics. Also added an input for urls, so you can dynamically load files from sites like https://lnkd.in/eWnzTbUA, and play around with them in your device, à la Musique Concrète . Decided that interfaces for uploading/downloading files would really enable the full potential of a web-connected synthesizer, so I decided to move the file loading logic into a separate service . You'll still be able to fetch files from a database using your own logic but I want to make this technique as accessible as possible. Follow my progress here: https://lnkd.in/eTsvHt4f

Did you know there are plugins that run pretty much 1:1 emulations of the Virus and Micro Q? A group called DSP56300 emulated the actual DSP chips those synths used, and then created an interface on top. These interfaces run the actual ROM files of the actual synth, so this is not "virtual analog" but rather "virtual emulated virtual analog" ;) I was skeptical, but as my video tutorial shows, it totally works - and you as the user are doing illegal, you are downloading the ROM from the real legal source of the manufacturer website. The fine legal print in theory is - you should be an owner of the actual hardware original in order to have the ROM. https://lnkd.in/deG4uxXe
