AMS Impact Group had the great opportunity to attend an awesome conference with the Arizona Coalition for Military Families exploring the support ecosystem for transitioning military members. AMS Impact Group’s first DOD Skillbridge intern (Navy Chief Corey Shorter) was able to share thought provoking insights regarding enhancing resource accessibility. Networking with passionate individuals, we examined promoting Arizona's strengths to encourage military members to stay local or relocate to Arizona after their transition. Notable assets include robust VA care, diverse opportunities, mental health resources, and strong employer partnerships with colleges. Initiatives to bolster support in Arizona involve helping transitioning military members build relationships with SkillBridge programs, breaking down collaboration barriers, and providing attractive conditions for military members. Essential stakeholders include state, county, and city organizations, colleges, employers, and veterans. The communication pathways range from veteran surveys and city chamber involvement to leveraging military bases, commanders, and social media. Together, we can make Arizona not just a 'veteran-friendly' state but a 'Military Family Friendly State.

This is Space Force Junior ROTC The Initial Spark to Launch Citizens of Character During a recent visit with the current class at Basic Military Training, the Chief Master Sergeant of the Space Force John Bentivegna described the relationship of the four Guardian Values this way: “I got asked what my favorite Core Value out of our 4Cs was. I said Character. I explained we can teach Connection, Commitment, and Courage. Character stands above all because it’s what they bring with them. It’s great to see them on their Space Force journey!” If #character is what arrives with the new recruit to the nation’s newest and most technical military service, where does it come from? Where does it begin? That is THE mission of SFJROTC! Space Force Junior ROTC is not a military accession program. Its mission is to “launch #citizens of character with a #space vision into their communities.” Regardless of what they choose to do in life, #SFJROTC students are mentored in the most important tool for their future success, character.
