#ai | #artificialintelligence | #banks | #fintechs : GenAI in #finance is largely at a proof-of-concept stage. But we’re in a period of rapid and unprecedented transition. The tech adoption strategy of most incumbents involves adding it on top of existing products or using the new technology to boost productivity. #Startups meanwhile are using new technology to disrupt and unbundle what incumbents do. 💡 Last night, we attended "Navigating the Fintech Waters,” presented by Boston Women in FinTech & FinServices and hosted by CIC (Cambridge Innovation Center). The session featured insights from guest speaker David Jegen, who co-founded Fintech Sandbox and is currently serving as the managing partner of F-Prime Capital. Together with expert moderator Deniz A. Johnson, David guided us through his predictions on the future of Fintech in 2024. 🌐 Here are some of our key takeaways: ⚖️ Reg On, Risk Off: 2024 will be the year that regulations catch up with Fintechs that were operating with high risk and little regulations. 💸 BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later): This trend, which became very prevalent in 2023, will remain strong in 2024. BNPL is changing how credit card companies work and making buying things more accessible for people who can't afford to pay all at once. 📈 Investment: While the market is still rebounding, expect similar investment trends in 2024 to what we saw in 2023. People starting a Fintech at the beginning stages will find opportunities, but those in later funding rounds might face challenges. 🚀 AI (Artificial Intelligence): Technologies like AI, Natural Language Processing, and Machine Learning will keep trending in 2024. Now, the focus is likely to shift to how companies adopt and integrate these technologies, ensuring security, non-biased code, and removing errors. Being on the talent side of tech, we can selfishly admit that our favorite quote from David was about the key to successfully founding a business: “You can build a great business anywhere as long as you know how to hire the talent” – Music to our ears! #BostonFintech #2024 #fintech #mcsgroup

It was an insightful two days at the Forbes Cyprus The Future of Fintech Summit 🇨🇾💡 Exciting discussions, brilliant speakers and valuable panel discussions made the event a truly enriching experience. Meeting familiar and new faces like Victoria Kostic-Nola, Nadya Hauer, Anna Svechnikova, Georg Hauer, Dr. Max Bernt, Eugene Kaputkin, Elena Krutova, Dagmara Handzlik, Yael Tamar , Andreas Mathikolonis, PhD, MBA, MEng, Paul Jozefak, Caritta Seppä, Yesika Aguilera ⚡️ made the event even better🙏🏻🤗 The future of FinTech was explored from different angles, and I particularly enjoyed the discussion on AI in the context of Fintechs. ✨One of the highlights of the two days was seeing my co-founder and CTO Sebastian Niehaus of SEKASA Technologies Ltd. on stage discussing the future of wealth management and the impact of AI on this topic with his fabulous co-speakers and moderator Mario Aguilera, Zoltan Nemeth, Mila Khrapchenko, Andreas Roussos. The group had a great, but also controversial discussion about wealth management and the benefits, but also the limitations of using AI. In the end, it all comes down to the human and machine partnership and how to best harness the power of AI🤝 #fintech #machinelearning #forbes
