A very well known conundrum of our #educationsector: #employment vs #employability. But a good point to take from here is may we have a #partnership between #industries and #highschools itself, instead of only coming into picture at last year of #graduation days. This may start preparing our students at an early age in #updating and getting #exposure to various relevant #skills, which a person is unaware of till he/she enters a professional world. This will act a #win-win for all: The industry will start getting the #skilled #humanresource prepared right from school level, a #business house will be able to create a strong #brandloyalty and the education sector will always remain updated with latest #trends in the #skill #market.

So, the new government is putting the spotlight on SKILLs development for young people. Whilst the Education curriculum may be the oil tanker that needs turning for the long term, the opportunity is there now to introduce more skills-based learning in secondary and further education. ❓ What will the new "Skills England" team put forward? 💡 If industry is complaining that Education is not preparing people for the workplace surely one answer is to provide early access to the sorts of L&D tools that are used in "the real world"? 🎯 My recent experience with Year 12 students across different academy groups has demonstrated the power of active learning. Using a digital simulation, small teams must compete to deliver the best balanced scorecard for their virtual business. All whilst adapting to working in a small project team, something they will be faced with in most workplaces. This encourages the following essential skills: - Listening - Speaking - Critical thinking - Creativity - Decision-making - Problem-solving - Staying positive - Leadership 👏 Great to observe their engagement! No wonder these events score so highly with the audience! 😎 🔎 Watch this space - lots to come on how we can encourage tomorrow's entrepreneurs and prepare a new generation for the workplace... #skills #education #learning #entrepreneurship

Great watch - This boy speaks about the current education system. The Best analysis which makes great sense. Some features of our prevailing education system:- 1.Produces Corporate Slaves 2.Mostly produces Job Seekers 3.lacks analytical thinking 4.No wholesome learning 5.Studying and not learning 6.Investment which needs to be encashed post education When one see the corporate boardrooms and bureaucratic corridors in our system one largely find all this true. Above coupled with our caste based reservations in jobs makes whole combination toxic. #academics #educationsystem #criticalthinking #wholesomedevelopment

Although Learning and Development continues to rise on the list of priorities of (mostly large) companies, 47% of workers have not done any workplace training in the last 5 years. Employers who invest in Continuing Education experience improved financial outcomes and gain a competitive advantage in their respective fields. This article briefly sights important legislation in some US states and the UK as successfully incentivizing work-related learning. World Economic Forum I think you would be really impressed by Chile's SENCE program, which allows companies to write off 100% of their expenditures in workplace training! Would love to see an feature on this someday :) #learninganddevelopment #continuouslearning #professionaleducation #upskilling

According to a recent report published by the Learning and Work Institute, called "The Great Skills Divide: How Learning Inequalities Risk Holding the UK Back": 1) By 2035, nearly 50% of UK adults will have higher education qualifications, but 33% will still only have GCSEs or equivalent. 2) The UK is set to rank 12th out of 39 OECD countries for low qualifications by 2035. 3) There has been a significant drop in adults gaining qualifications over the last decade, with seven million fewer qualifications than if 2010/11 levels had been maintained. 4) Skills needs are rising and changing, with growth concentrated in higher and professional occupations, increasing the demand for higher-level skills. There is also a shift towards essential and transferable employment skills such as communication, collaboration, problem-solving, organising, planning, prioritising work, creative thinking, and information literacy. It's promising to see that nearly half of UK adults will hold higher education qualifications by 2035. However, the fact that a third will still only have GCSEs highlights the pressing need to address educational inequalities. The shift towards essential and transferable skills is crucial. As an employer or educator I’m eager to hear your thoughts on these findings. Do you think there is enough support for employers and educators to collaborate to ensure the workforce is equipped with these vital capabilities? How do you think we can bridge the skills gap effectively? https://lnkd.in/eFxTbyB2 #Skillsminer #LearningAndWorkInstitute #FutureOfWork #UKSkills #EducationRevolution
