😕 Wait. What? I get it's the first Super Bowl under new OT rules, but the 49ers not understanding them is kind of crazy. No matter how skilled we are, being aware of and prepared for the evolving 'rules' of our game is crucial. It’s about more than just talent; it’s about strategy and communication within our team. It's about creating a space where asking questions is not just welcomed, but encouraged, and where staying informed is a collective effort. Who knows how this impacted the game's outcome, but at the very least, it could have spared the 49ers some post-game embarrassment #CommunicationIsKey #TeamworkMatters #LearningFromSports #BusinessInsights https://lnkd.in/eMjPjbYh

Remember, work - life balance matters
point of view: for anyone who could use the reminder, take your PTO. NFL season is starting soon and work is ramping up in the best ways - but I couldn’t miss seeing one of my best friends break her 6th World Record and get the Gold at the Olympics! Whether it’s the Olympics or your kid’s peewee football game, school play or dance recital, work will always be there. These moments will not. Prioritizing showing up for your friends and family is what always matters most.❤️

It's a simple question but not many ask it. It's a simple question but not many know how to answer it. check in on others. check in on yourself. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness
Earlier this week, Elmo tweeted to check in on people: "Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?" And people responded — in fact, over 17,000 answered Elmo. Some responses were funny, like this one (from the Detroit Free Press, on the heels of the loss by the Detroit Lions in the NFL playoffs: "We've been better, Elmo"). But many were serious, sharing that they had just been laid off, or that they were depressed. All in all, it was a good reminder to check in on those you love. If Elmo can do it, so can we. #MentalHealth #Wellbeing #Support #Community #CheckIn

Posting about kids in sports is still trending on LinkedIn, right? #mondaymotivation Let me say out of the gate: His win is NOT my win. BUT… it’s still inspiring. My son injured his quad last week and was advised to not take free kicks and only play midfield from his PT. He started the tourney on Saturday but had to stop playing about halfway through his first match. He didn’t play the second match and rested the rest of the day. Sunday morning he tried out some kicks in our yard, but still felt those tinges of pain. He decided he shouldn’t play, but wanted to show up and support the team. We arrived at the field and, not surprisingly, he wanted to play. This third match was important: a draw or a win would mean they’d advance. Plus, the weather was pretty decent. He played, but modified his play. The team advanced and after a draw 1-1 game, draw in overtime and tied PK shootouts until the sixth kick, they WON. They all won, because they played as a team. Some kids stepped up, others, like my son stepped to the side and they figured out with their coach (but TOGETHER) how to win. 🏆 It’s not about the medals, that’s just a bonus. It’s about this lesson right here. May we all step up, step back or to the side on our teams to win. #motivation #teamwork #pivot #winningmindset

Rising Above: A Lesson from the Philly Showdown Let me take you back to a moment that defined a turning point in my journey as an athlete. It was a chilly evening in Philly, and our team was riding high on our win-streak, trophies gleaming in the background. Little did we know, the game ahead was about to teach us a lesson in humility and hard work. As we strolled onto the field, the air was thick with overconfidence. Late warm-ups, distracted minds – we were living in our own bubble. On the other side, Philly wasn't impressed by our reputation. They were there to play, to challenge, to punch. I found myself facing James "Big Game" Pollard, a formidable opponent smoking us deep. I took it upon myself to put a stop to it, and I did. The catch? It went unnoticed by our head coach. Called off the D-Line, I watched as Big Game James went deep, and Philly scored. Frustration built up, and I confronted the coach during overtime. "I'm stopping him from going deep, and no one else is doing that." Dismissed, I walked away, needing a moment to gather myself. We won that game, not through hard work but talent. Yet, that moment stayed with me as a reminder of untapped potential. I knew I could give more to the team. It wasn't a chip on my shoulder; it was fuel for my commitment. I immersed myself in the game – watching tapes, visualizing shutting down opponents, getting blocks. I committed to improving physically, guarding the best at practice. No shying away from hard work, failure, or ego. And you know what happened? Defensive Player of the Year. I'm not sharing this to boast; I'm sharing it so you can see yourself in my story. Who doubts your capabilities? How can you be so good that they can't ignore you? Embrace those moments of doubt; they're your ticket to greatness. Don't shy away; use them as fuel. Let them energize you to show up like never before. This is your opportunity to shine. Take it.

No Super Bowl flu for me. It didn't even cross my mind. I was up early eagerly awaiting 'Get Up' on ESPN. Mahomes - once again - etched his name in history! Unforgettable game. Unforgettable night. #KC #Chiefs #superbowl Patrick Mahomes demonstrates mastery over his game. He makes nuanced decisions that give his team the winning advantage. He understands when to take calculated risks. 🏈 Stay with me - I will relate this back to business. Kyle Shanahan took a significant gamble, and it may have cost him the game. While I'm a devoted football fan, I don't always grasp the precise rules or the rationale behind penalty calls. I did, however, sense the considerable risk when SF opted to receive the football first in the OT coin toss. They handed KC a guaranteed possession. #newrule #overtime How does this translate into the business world? There are numerous applications, but I'll highlight just one. When assembling a successful team, it is critical to recruit individuals who provide the competitive advantage, who possess the acumen to make strategic decisions, and who exhibit unwavering persistence in the pursuit of victory. #winningteam Hire like you are building your own Super Bowl team. Those that have worked with me know that I refer to this as "building the win team". Go have a great week. #yactraq
