Transitioning out of the military can profoundly affect not only the service member but also their spouse and children. Leaving the tight-knit military community, which often feels like a second family, can be challenging. Military families rely on each other, leaning on fellow spouses and fellow service members for support, especially when immediate family isn't close by. As they step into civilian life, they face the struggle of connecting with others who may not fully understand the sacrifices they've made. This pivotal time calls for unwavering support for each transitioning family. Reminding them that they are not alone and providing guidance through this new way of life is crucial. Together, we can create a stronger support system for these families as they embark on their post-military journey. #MilitaryTransition #SupportingMilitaryFamilies #StrongerTogether

Here is tip one of you shared for a better Military Transition: Talk to a Veteran. Talk to someone who has already been thru the process. Understand that your command or your military buddies just don't know what is going to happen to you. Even TAP only gets you to the last day of service. It doesn't get you into the next phase of your life. #militarytransition #militaryretirement #veterans

This is at least once every 3 years - which is the average time military families stay in one location. However, this is not always the average.
