“IN A WORLD FULL OF UNITEDS, CITYS AND ROVERS, THERE IS ONLY ONE HOTSPUR.” Yip… but who are you really? We all know that successful brands are more than a catchy line and a logo. They have meaning. Something for people to believe in and get behind. So, when Ange Postecoglou took over at Spurs, what (other than his salary) do you think was discussed at his interview? What goals were set? What does success actually look like for Spurs? Big Ange lost the rag this week and suggested that to close the gap on the top clubs Spurs need a total mentality shift. On this I’m with him. Some teams are happy with mediocrity (Spurs?), and others demand to be winners … you know who you are! Ange lamented the club’s “fragile foundations”. I wonder if they’ve ever discussed their foundations or values. And if those values mention striving to win. Quick Quiz: Any idea which club these values belong to? Clue: They’re a leader on and off the field – in social, solidarity and financial terms… Excellence – including the professional, sporting, and institutional aspects Winning spirit – fostered through determination, effort, sacrifice, commitment, perseverance, and self-improvement 100% commitment – a team-based philosophy Togetherness and Empathy – to achieve a common goal Solidarity – a commitment to be there for those who need it most, particularly children at risk from social exclusion Humility – we consider our opponents to be of equal merit in a showing of utmost respect, and every achievement represents a starting point to try and accomplish the next challenge https://lnkd.in/egYHxKFG #football #branding #skysports Spartans FC Spartans Network #Spurs Terry Burns Shaun Millican Keith Boyes #realmadridcf Jim Rae Steve Murray Phil Johnson John Evans #socccer Gary Neville Nick Peel

If we look at the four corner model, England's players are supreme athletes in the physical corner. Thanks to the EPPP they are also fantastic technicians. Tactically for their clubs they are also top performers. So why not for England? Psychosocial factors are more than a 'corner', they underpin everything else. So, if that bit isn't right, neither are the others. If you lack drive/motivation, for example, you will struggle to get to peak fitness or other areas of potential. In the past with England the issue has been fear of failure, now it seems to be fear of success - going a goal up and getting more and more defensive, choking. Choking in sport is a crippling form of anxiety that turns world class performers into nervous wrecks. This video is over 20 years old but still incredibly relevant today (apologies it is in 10 parts - follow the links for the next one) and one that I still use clips from all the time: Part 1: https://lnkd.in/dFq4sB59 If England are to progress they need to conquer their fear and "dare to lose to win". Come on England!

🚨 New legislation signed by Governor Kathy Hochul mandates the implementation of automated external defibrillator (AED) plans for camps and youth sports programs in New York State. As of this week, establishments like Grace and Truth Sports Park in Hilton are leading the charge by ensuring they have AEDs readily available. Park Director Tom Street emphasizes the critical importance of this measure, especially in light of recent events. With incidents like Damar Hamlin's and others in the media, having AEDs on hand can truly be life-saving. This legislation underscores the necessity for staying vigilant of state AED and CPR laws, as they're constantly evolving to better protect our communities. Investing in AEDs and training personnel to use them isn't just a regulatory requirement—it's a moral imperative. It's a small step that can make an immense difference, potentially saving lives in moments of crisis. Read more at https://lnkd.in/eX-eEQku #AED #CPR #PublicSafety https://lnkd.in/e3XqrQtE
