🚀 Helping Job Seekers Land Offers Fast, Expert Resume Writer, LinkedIn Profile Writer, Interview Coach, Exec Coach, Outplacement Provider and More! 🌐 Visit careerorganic.com for more info
🔥 This is so interesting to me Michael Lin, at our company Career Organic, we don't conduct ANY interviews via camera. It is all blind hiring. I've found that I would rather get their candid answers, without the pretense of how they look, if their computer is functioning that day or not, and not watch my face for a reaction in order to tailor their responses differently. I want the raw candidate, and I want their talents and transferable skills to shine through. Additionally - I guess because I work with so many candidates on the other side (coaching them throughout the job search) that when I am the hiring manager, I have more compassion for their lives outside of the interview. People are struggling right now, and some are being laid off without notice, no funds saved up, or family changes such as a new baby on the way or just having moved etc. I won't judge someone who may not have the finances to fix their computer, I know the realities of having too many priorities to deal with and hear these stories every single day. To me, they are heartbreaking, and worth a pause before judgement is bestowed upon them. Is it your right to not hire them - sure thing. But if that's the scale they are judged and evaluated on, it might be better for them in the long term that they don't enter an environment where a hint of compassion and understanding are not a part of the hiring process.
I was interviewing a candidate for a design role when they joined the call with their camera off. ⬇️ I asked them if they could turn their camera on, and they told me that “their camera has been broken for the last 10 months, so they couldn’t do it.” Who on earth has a broken camera for 10 months and doesn’t fix it immediately in a remote-first world? I rejected them on this basis alone. Was it the right decision? Let me know in the comments below 👇

I write about how LinkedIn can be your ATM type of situation. Posts that help you leverage LI like it should be.
Clickbait Noun - the practice of writing sensationalized or misleading headlines in order to attract clicks on a piece of content. In this case, a lot of what is being done on LinkedIn. Aside from your usual pod activity, certain people live for the dopamine effect they get from these posts. The ego boosts they crave from the engagement and likes on their content. It's like a drug. They keep wanting more. But to what means? Rather than writing clickbait posts do yourself one better and write content worth reading to your buyers. Content that calls to your ICP and delivers value rather than the usual 🤢 we're seeing. Do better! PS - If your writing style sucks, give Doug Lawson a shout and he'll get your content up in shape. Rather, Hit up the team @ Strategy Ladders if you want more than just content and looking for a change in managing your biz. --- Not a paid advertisement 😎 but biased 🤘

Sounds Familiar? (1) Obviously, there are cases of incompetent persons being employed by any organisations. (2) Some have been terminated even during 6- month period of probation. (3) Some ended up committing briberies or sexual harrasment throughout their tenure. (4) Some have fabricated their fake resumes of phony credentials. (5) Some performing their jobs like postmen or photostat machines.
