🌟 Have you been hired because of a quota? 🌟 I have… In the final episode of the *State of Women in Tech: Berlin Edition* series, I had the honor of participating alongside amazing women in tech based in Berlin. Hosted by Founder & CEO Vanessa Chiedza Sanyauke, this episode dives into crucial topics like work-life blend, self-doubt, getting your voice heard, life as a person of color, neurodiversity, and more. 🖤 During our discussion, I shared my personal experience of being hired because of a company's diversity quota. It’s a complex issue with both positive and negative aspects. On one hand, quotas can open doors and provide opportunities that might otherwise be inaccessible. On the other hand, it can bring feelings of self-doubt and questions about whether you were hired for your skills or just to meet a number. This episode explores these nuances and more. My fellow participants include: Tian Su -VP Product & Tech at Zalando Molly Allbutt - Head of Comms & PR, at Smoobu - The Vacation Rental Software - The Vacation Rental Software Mariam Yakub - Data Analyst at FMC Corporation Watch the full episode here: https://buff.ly/3RbceX1 Share on comments what are your thought on quotas ? #WomenInTech #BerlinTech #DiversityInTech #TechLeadership #Empowerment #Inspiration

💝 Where all I see is pink, you see human-centric transformations! In June 2019, I attended the Girlboss Rally in Los Angeles. Created by Sophia Amoruso, the founder of the Girlboss movement and the apparel brand Nasty Gal, this community was all about empowering women economically and professionally. And I wanted to learn from the best! 💞 The event was a pink dream of empowerment: banners, buzzing conversations, and a stellar lineup of speakers like Sally Crawcheck (ElleVest), Michelle Phan, and even Paris Hilton. Sophia Amoruso’s vision of a global community for female entrepreneurs turned into a movement, with 1,800 attendees from 28 countries. Whether you’re rallying employees for a bottom-up transformation or building an empowering movement like Girlboss, the principles are the same: ✅ A shared mission unites people. ✅ Values matter—they’re the glue of any community. ✅ Effective marketing and communication are non-negotiable. You must give your employees a reason to rally. You do this by creating a community: 1️⃣ Offer forums for employees to co-create and engage with the change. 2️⃣ Build platforms for participation: panels, webinars, Slack groups, or one-day events. 3️⃣ Have them use their voices and shape ideas (= co-create). Need expert help with turning a human-centric transformation into reality? Send me a message. Picture: with Andra Vaduva at the Girlboss rally
