Now that Shark Week is coming to a close, you've probably learned about many species of sharks, but we noticed they didn't mention the scariest of them all... The Budget Biter. Even more frightening is that it lives right in the middle of your IT ecosystem, quickly chipping away at your IT budget(and spirit) in the form of forced upgrades and low-quality service. Yes we're talking about your vendor-provided software support. We all know how the story goes. You implemented an Oracle or SAP product and had a software-maintenance contract with the vendor for about 12 to 24 months. Things were going great, but once that initial contract expired, they made you feel as though you only had one of two options: Upgrade to maintain your current level of support or deal with lower support quality. Just like that, the Budget Biter strikes again. The good news is that you have another option: third-party support. A safety boat if you will.😉⛵ Curious? Message us directly and we will be in touch ASAP. #softwaresupport #ERP #thirdpartysupport #oracle #sap

In my experience, it’s quite rare for the software vendor to be at fault from a contractual standpoint, although there are exceptions. I’m curious if you’ve had similar experiences or if you’ve encountered cases where the vendor was held responsible. In this particular situation, the issues seemed to stem from the customer’s side, as it’s their responsibility to understand what to expect from the technology. For example, with SAP, if you’re not familiar with how to use the software, it’s not necessarily their problem. Have you faced situations where understanding or miscommunication about the technology’s use played a major role in the outcome? What have you learned from handling such cases? Attention SAP job seekers! Are you an ECC6 consultant with a long list of implementations to your name? Don't get complacent! Ask yourself this: Do you want to do maintenance work on ECC6 for the rest of your career? Yes, there may well be plenty of work still in the ECC6 market, and yes lots of businesses are sceptical about moving to S/4HANA. But how many new SAP implementations are on ECC6 now? I'll tell you: practically none. What this means is that if you keep yourself in the ECC6 game, you will never work on any implementation projects again. Sounds dull, right? So take control. Get yourself upskilled on S/4HANA. #saptips #saphints #erpgurus
