Forest Park, voted one of USA Today's Top 10 Urban Parks in America, relies on an innovative public and private partnership between Forest Park Forever and the City of St. Louis Government to provide rich cultural experiences and beautiful green space to more than 12 million visitors each year. Spire has supported conservation efforts in Forest Park for many years, from park cleanups to helping install water recycling technology to reduce water consumption. This week, nearly 60 employees used their #DayforGood cleaning up and clearing out invasive species across the park. It's one way we're working to give back to the communities we serve and conserve resources for the generations to come. #SpireServes🧡

The workforce of the future depends on what we do today. That's why our relationships with community leaders and organizations like Urban League are so important. We joined the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and other energy partners on Sept. 7 for the rollout of a new pre-apprenticeship initiative – C.A.R.E (Career Advancement & Readiness in Energy) – that is designed to build an energy talent pipeline for underrepresented populations in the community. To kick off this partnership, the Urban League held a news conference at their North St. Louis headquarters, and afterwards held sessions to provide information on the program to the inaugural cohort group. Spire Missouri President Steve Mills spoke at the news conference and thanked Nicole Fondren, manager of talent acquisition, and Anna Witte, specialist, university relations, for their efforts in launching this program. Dallass Jones, field operations director and an Urban League board member, also attended to support the program.

Over the past year, Spire and Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, Inc. have collaborated on hiring initiatives for positions throughout our field operations department, providing pathways to meaningful careers and new skills. We were honored to receive an Employers Appreciation Award at the organization's Save Our Sons/Sisters luncheon for the hiring initiative. To see firsthand the role natural gas storage plays in supporting energy security, reliability and affordability, a delegation of Congressional staffers toured the Spire Storage's expansion project in Wyoming. Spire Storage’s project to meet the growing energy demands in the Rockies and Western U.S. was the first stop of a four-day Congressional staff delegation tour through some of Wyoming's most notable businesses and National Parks. Spire's tour was joined by the full Wyoming state legislature delegation from Uinta County, the full Uinta County Commission, as well as visiting County Commissioners from Wyoming’s Converse County, Sublette County, and Lincoln County and staff from the Wyoming County Commissioners Association. The Clear Creek expansion project remains on track to be finished later this year – expanding authorized working gas capacity at Spire's Clear Creek facility fivefold to 20 BCf to meet growing demand for natural gas. #FuelingTheFuture #EnergySecurity #NaturalGas
