Pride Month serves as a reminder of the ongoing journey towards diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The global LGBTQ+ community still faces challenges such as discrimination, stigma, and unequal rights. By recognising Pride Month, we are creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone, irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Human lives cannot be explained by single categories, such as gender, race and sexual orientation. The intersection of these categories can produce both experiences of privilege and oppression.
