A time when our surprise was a surprise for us itself! We were setting up a super big surprise party for our Honarable CM, only to hear it might not happen.. Our mission was super clear – make this awesome event happen, be quick on our feet, and fix things as we go. From getting permissions to figuring out the details, we were deep in the hustle. Then, the tough news came though at night – the CM wouldn’t be able to make it due to an emergency, and our plans were on shaky ground. I faced some big emotional hurdles.. Everything was planned. Everything was ready. Everything was fixed. Giving up? Not in my plan. I could call off the whole event and pack up at that very moment, but I went with my gut. I took the plunge and kept the news silent in the team. But against the odds, the CM was able to make it the next day just for 7 mins, and we pulled off a surprise flash mob party, something they'd never seen before. Soon after, other flash mobs popped up around the city, celebrating! Seeing our hard work pay off was pure magic! A mix of feeling relieved, happy, and super emotional. Planning events might sound fun, but it's in crisis management that the real human stories unfold! #crisismanagement #events

When I was 18, I had an idea to run a nightclub party. A mentor of mine said to me: "Daniel, get the idea out of your head. Pick up the phone, talk to 3 or 4 people, and see how the idea lands". So I did. I called the general manager of the biggest nightclub in town, and he agreed to host the party. 👉 We promoted the party. 👉 We got thousands of people to show up. 👉 And we made $10,000 in one night! If you have a big idea, don't let it sit in your head for too long. Pick up the phone, talk to some people, make a few calls, and see if you can advance it. #businessidea #businesstips #businessadvice

We’re getting the band back together 🙌🏼 Simon Adams joined the team on Monday which is the first of the many City Pub crew who are joining the Antic family. What a whirlwind week it’s been checking out the venues, meeting the teams and also getting up to speed with the new opens scheduled. Episode #1 of building a sales department Ditch the Dojo and onboard all venues to Collins 📌Top tips ✨understand your venue and your USP. Is this communicated in all your messaging, website and socials. Your elevated pitch should be clear. If you find it hard to describe your venue, it’s going to be even harder to sell it ✨Drop the “t”! Focus on what you can do and not what you can’t. It’s crazy the amount of times that I see people’s initial messaging to a customer listing all the rules and restrictions instead of singing about their USP’s. FYI - they don’t need to know that you don’t allow confetti and outside food when making an enquiry for lunch 🤦🏼♀️😉

Simple and Easy tips below on how to go to your first media event sober!
First sober media event? Here's the game plan: 1. Decide if you'll share your sobriety with pals for support. 2. Arrive when the parties in full swing to skip the early drinking vibe. 3. Grab a tasty non-alcoholic drink from the bar. 4. Have an exit plan for when you need a breather. 5. Embrace the fun - network, enjoy the food, and hit the dance floor! 6. It gets easier with practice - each event builds confidence. You've got this! 😎

Mobley's Musings–No Mo’ No Show It has been said that eighty percent of success is just showing up. I don’t agree entirely with that idea, but lately, I have experienced a number of people just not showing up. They RSVP in the affirmative for social events or sign up for work events and then don’t appear. In some situations, the host may have spent a lot on catering, only to have much of it go to waste. And in cases where seating is limited, the no-shows prevented people who really want to attend from going. What’s happening? Didn’t their parents teach them good manners? Are people lacking in empathy and only concerned about their own needs? Or is something else at play? Regardless of the reason, there are some ways to address the problem. One organization keeps tabs on no-shows and doesn’t allow them to sign up for future events. Another organization charges a nominal registration fee that helps to offset a no-show’s catering cost. One leader has his admin contact no-shows and requests they send a letter of apology explaining their absence. If it’s an event at my home, the offenders fall off future guest lists. Even if that eighty percent guesstimate is wildly overstated, just showing up will always count for something, while not showing up will always count for less than nothing. #juicywork #leadershipdevelopment

Lunch with the Hewitt Matthews boys last Friday 🍽️💚 Having a load of contacts is one thing... but, building relationships and getting to know the people behind the screen is when the real magic happens ✨ It's just a bonus that the Liquid Friday Ltd team and I are also good friends with the HM boys; so meetings like these don't feel much like work at all 😄 Plus, a delicious lunch on a Friday afternoon is just good for the soul imo 💁🏻♂️ How do you build relationships with industry colleagues? 👇💬 #happyfriday #lunchmeeting #networking #buildingrelationships #umbrellacompany
