I have been reflecting for a while on the following thoughts and am curious for feedback. We can all agree construction is not what it used to be. It’s changing, and while some might regard those changes as somewhat superficial or simply cosmetic, the real life-altering aspect of construction evolution, in my opinion, relates to the technology partnerships construction companies are forming, particularly with software development companies. And we’re not talking about simple technology here. We’re talking about ‘how can we make sure that these relationships result in software that actually works for the construction industry and that carries the kind of innovation that will serve the industry well in the future.’ A partnership where both parties are actively innovating and stepping out of their comfort zones. This collaboration wouldn't just involve acknowledging each other's innovations with a simple, "Hey, cool, you're doing innovative things." Instead, it should focus on transforming a partnership, ensuring that our efforts are not only transactional but truly transformative. My thoughts: Shared Vision: Our software partners and we; are we on the same page? Do we understand their roadmaps, and do they understand our timelines? Open Communication: How often do we have honest conversations about what's working and what's not? Are we creating a culture of consistent, candid feedback for both us and them? Or here's the really important question: Are we even talking about it, or are we just letting these as artifices of reporting happen so that we can say, "Well, at least we 'crafted' (read: cooked up) a plan over the last month.” Long-term Commitment: True innovation happens when good ideas have had time to percolate and been refined through failures. Crafting robust bonds with software firms hinges on far more than just being the first to harness the latest tech. It's about creating a culture of partnership that respects the unique contributions both sides make. A good partnership should, in my opinion, push both partners to work outside their individual comfort zones. That, to me, is what leads to real innovation; making each partner more than comfortable and stretching their limits as much as possible. So I’m curious, what strategies have you found effective in building these kinds of relationships? #ConstructionInnovation #SoftwarePartnerships #MutualGrowth #IndustryCollaboration #InnovationInConstruction

Helping organizations improve how they deliver value for over 25 years. Using a mix of agile technical practices (XP), workflow design, and applied psychology/neuroscience.
When we think of scaling the work, we’re typically thinking of stories that are grouped within features or epics, which might be grouped inside even larger items. This is vertical scaling and is fairly common. There is another type of scaling, which we need to also consider, and that is horizontal. Horizontal scaling is when we pass the work from one team to another and there is no real value until multiple teams have touched it. Our assumption should always be that the work items flowing through our system are valuable, or at least they are something that we expect to be valuable. In a horizontal scaling model, we are saying that no single team is able to deliver value on their own, and we have to establish cross-team handoffs. More here: https://lnkd.in/gMNZUtbi

As we approach Q4, many companies are entering crunch time for their tech projects. Deadlines are looming, and I’ve been hearing a consistent concern from senior tech leaders—waiting 4-8 weeks to bring in specialists. This is simply not an option when time is tight. Having spoken with many of these leaders over the past few months, it's clear that speed and agility are critical to meet deadlines. That’s why more and more companies are turning to Coltech Global to solve this challenge. With our Virtual Bench solution, they’re able to access specialized tech resources across Europe within 24-48 hours, keeping their projects on track and hitting key deadlines. If you're someone who also faces similar struggles, let's have a chat and we can show you how we can add value to your projects!
