It is a proud moment today to celebrate 20 years in business. Most New Zealand businesses fail in the first 2 to 5 years. The key to success? Building long term relationship, trusted networks, constant reinvention and sticking to being values-led, tika, aroha, and pono. #businesssuccess #startupsuccess #leadership #valuesled #trustedrelationships #networks #reinvention #resilience #values https://lnkd.in/gvK5FXcS

One of the common unspoken tensions in a family business is the reality that different owners — and future owners — don’t all want to be involved in the same way. All too often, those desires and expectations are not discussed or normalized. However, there are processes for families to discuss their desired roles and evolve the business governance accordingly. #familybusiness #businessleadership #leadership #businessgovernance https://lnkd.in/d-7AQmNn

We often think of small businesses as cozy, personal, and intimate. But the reality is, we don’t want to stay small. We want to grow—to give back, provide for our families, and secure our futures. It’s not just about the size of the business; it’s about potential, ambition, and the continuous journey of growth. Every challenge we face, every milestone we reach, is a testament to our progress. We’re not just “small”; we’re evolving, expanding, and thriving. Today, I encourage us all to shift our perspective. Let’s start calling our businesses what they truly are: growing businesses. Every day, we’re learning, improving, and getting closer to our goals. Let’s embrace the journey of growth and celebrate every step forward. It’s not about where we started; it’s about where we’re headed. #ThursdayThoughts #GrowingBusiness #EntrepreneurMindset #BusinessGrowth #PositiveChange #Leadership #SmallBusiness #Innovation #Progress

Summer is underway, and we’re already at the halfway point of the year! This month, we’ve been sharing tips for a successful summer, and here are our last two: Celebrate Successes. Entrepreneurs often have a hard time “turning it off” and recognizing their achievements. * Take a moment to highlight the great things that have happened – behaviors that align with your Core Values, outstanding Customer Service, Sales or Operational wins. * Give yourself and your teammates a well-deserved pat on the back. * Lastly, don’t neglect reviewing and refining your annual plan. Be sure to schedule time to work on it! If you need assistance, consider our One Day Planning workshop. Work with your team to determine the right path forward for the coming year and leave with a draft One Page Plan already written down. Let’s make the most of the rest of the year! https://lnkd.in/gUQDYjBi Eileen Wainwright Jill Huentelman #LeadershipDevelopment #ceothinktank #ceo #thoughleadership #business #growth

Helping family business win across generations so they still want to see each other at Thanksgiving | 10 years in my own family firm | Recovering Mechanical Engineer and Unfortunate Canucks Fan.
The Secret to Successful Family Businesses 🚀 Group decisions are painful. (Remember group projects?) Because you don’t want to offend. And you don’t want to be difficult. It’s hard. Especially when people aren’t on the same page. Working with family is even hard. Because it’s complicated. There’s history. Power dynamics. Relationship baggage. But even when it’s hard, I see families working to keep their business together. Why? Because they have a shared vision. They have a clear picture of where they want to be in 50 years. What the business looks like. And how the family relates to the business. Because hard decisions will come. And the vision will serve as a north star. It takes work to develop a family vision, But it’s worth it. Because let’s be honest, It’s easier for everyone to go their separate ways. So why choose the harder path? Because when you have a shared vision, you have something work working for. Something you can only achieve together. ____ I'm Tim Yeung Click my name + follow. ____ WORK WITH ME I help families plan for the next generation and create a brighter future. There are plenty of “business communities” out there that are nothing more than glorified social clubs. They are a cool picture, a fun experience, and a waste of your money (and time). But what if instead of paying tens of thousands of dollars for a cool photo opp… You could get in a room with REAL problem solvers, who are operating REAL businesses, and are willing to help you troubleshoot, innovate & grow? If you’re in the Boise area, you can 🔥 I’ve put together a group of local business leaders who come together once a month to TRULY mastermind. This isn’t an annoying networking group. This isn’t about learning one strategy from one coach. 👊 It’s about doing business better with the support of other business leaders in the area, who are doing the same. Our next meeting is THIS Friday at Kiln. If you are in the Meridian/Boise (or close enough to drive in), we would love to have you. The Lab is a catalytic game changer for the business leaders involved. Once a month. Structured. Focused. Intentional. Proven. Oh – and your first meeting is FREE. DM me “COMMUNITY” & I’ll get you the details for Friday! #boisenetworking #boiseentrepreneurs #boisebusinessowners #boisesmallbusiness #boisecommunity

Here’s how I scaled an 8-figure business without sacrificing family time: Most business owners believe you have to choose: grow your business or be there for your family. I disagree. When I started my company, I made a promise to myself—my family would always come first. That didn’t mean the business took a backseat. It meant I had to be smart with my time. Here’s what worked: Planning: I blocked out family time on my calendar, and I treated it like a non-negotiable meeting. Prioritizing Quality: Just because you can work doesn’t mean you should. I focused on high-impact tasks and made sure to give my best to both my family and my business. If you’re drowning in work and struggling to find that balance, I’ve been there. Let’s connect and chat about how you can scale your business without losing what matters most. #leadership #founders #worklife
