When survivors, community, and advocates share the stories of survivors (with permission, of course, and protecting anonymity if required) we lessen shame and silence for all working or navigating safety within the domestic violence arena. Shame and silence kills! We must take an indepth look at how we serve others and ourselves in order to create meaningful and lasting change. In our article for PoliticsHome with Thinks Insight & Strategy, we discuss that when we asked MPs to estimate how many potential adult victims of #ModernSlavery were identified in the UK last year, only 14% got close. "Only when our leaders understand the true nature of this hidden crime, can we hope to tackle it effectively and hold the perpetrators – rather than its victims – to account."
