We aim to empower youth by giving them the chance to directly contribute, which in turn fosters a strong sense of belonging. We are thrilled to unveil our project website, developed with passion by individuals aged 16, 17 from Ukraine, and 27 from Nepal. These passionate youths are currently hard at work on website development, and we are proudly launching our first version. You might be curious about the results – while our website may not boast the polish of a seasoned professional, it certainly meets high standards considering the team's experience and skills. We firmly believe in mutual growth through enhancing their capabilities. Engaging with youth is key, especially for immigrants from diverse backgrounds, as it cultivates a sense of responsibility within the community. While digitalization aims to improve efficiency and transparency, it may also widen the digital divide. The study found that most citizens had positive experiences, though some barriers existed, with variations between two municipal agencies. Throw back to when some of us gathered The Hub ATL to talk about our immigrant journey thus far. We laughed, gasped, sighed and literally went through the whole emotional spectrum because really - you got to give it us - we thrive and stay thriving. Some might say it’s inbuilt. But I like to ask why? ➡️Why the notion that we have to start from scratch after all the experience we have amassed before moving? ➡️Why is the menial job the first option before the other jobs? ➡️Why is there misinformation or hoarding of information because you can’t just come and ride on the wings of my own journey? ➡️How do we know that person cannot work in Tech because they just came from Nigeria? ➡️Why are so many of us doing great and mighty things but we are spread across and not forming a collective? ➡️How are the other nationalities owning a whole county and more? ➡️Why the higher you go in the corporate path, there seems to be less or less of us? ➡️Why do we sit inside diversity and equity sessions and still feel excluded? ➡️Why is no one talking about the migration effect on our metal health? The questions are long and unending.. These were some of the questions we were going back and forth on and guess what?!! Some of our opinions were different and that is alright - the WINNING THING here is we are having CONVERSATIONS and SOLUTIONS!! Good afternoon LinkedIn! 👇 In recent weeks we have been busy socializing the policy of our platform AtlasBridges Diaspora / AI-Jaliya Platform even more, but also internationalizing it. As of today we are a proud partner of UNHCR, the UN refugee organization. As an organization, we know better than anyone how beautiful the social world is. But unfortunately we also know that this social involvement and engagement is not self-evident. That is why we take our responsibilities and do as much as possible to increase our social impact in the Benelux, but also in Europe and Africa. Hence the launch of Social Work Hub 👉#NextMoveProject: This short introduction outlines a vision on international cooperation and shared learning between Atlasbridges Diaspora Platform and partner organizations that are interested in promoting international knowledge and impact of social work. The profession of social work is experiencing strong growth and change. In recent years, more governments around the world have recognized that social work is essential for running sustainable economies and societies. Another driving force for change is that social work approaches to facilitate self-development on the ground have received broad support from the United Nations and other policy institutions, as they have proven to contribute to positive social transformation. However, there are more challenges for the profession with an increasing number of refugees fleeing deteriorating climate conditions or armed conflict, the global economic crisis pushing hundreds of millions into poverty, the Covid pandemic and the potential for further pandemics. 👉Proud of our team and international partners who have managed to reach both the target group and partners through a culturally sensitive approach over the past 20 years. Through the bond of trust that has now been established, but also through our working method formula and social impact. Migration is more than a physical journey; it’s an emotional one too. For migrants, leaving behind familiar surroundings and stepping into a new world often brings isolation and uncertainty. Yet, the power of community and connection can transform this experience. Building relationships in a new place allows isolation to dissolve and fosters a sense of belonging. Every shared story, every welcoming gesture becomes a brick in the bridge that connects migrants to their new community. Let’s remember to extend those bridges to newcomers around us, creating spaces where they can thrive and feel at home. Together, we can help belonging flourish.

#Power of In-Person #Connections In May, we organised three impactful in-person #events with participants of the Conecta Migrants & Refugees Italy. From a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® session in Rome to a focus group event with entrepreneurs and a networking session with mentors in Milan, these gatherings showcased the incredible value of face-to-face interactions. This wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing people and organisations supporting this initiative*. Here are some #key #learnings from these experiences: 1️⃣ #Interactive Activities: engaging activities like LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® and anonymous feedback methods (via Mentimeter or post-its) help participants feel more comfortable sharing their personal and professional challenges and aspirations. These methods also boost mutual #support and #empathy among the group. 2️⃣ #Community and #Belonging: these two concepts vary significantly among different nationalities. While strong #networks can facilitate #integration, they can also create "#bubbles" that further isolate individuals from the broader society. Identifying and supporting "#intermediaries" from these communities is crucial to building #trust, amplifying #voices, and raising #awareness. 3️⃣ #Entrepreneurship as a Pathway: entrepreneurship is highly widespread among migrant and refugee communities in Italy, serving as a great tool for #autonomy and community support. However, these entrepreneurs often face significant #challenges and are often stuck in mainstream sectors. This highlights the need for more #inclusive #policies and #initiatives co-created by all stakeholders involved. 4️⃣ #Mentorship is an incredibly enriching opportunity to bridge these gaps. Our mentors range from #different nationalities, expertise sectors, age, gender. What unifies them is their mission to #give #back, get out of their #comfort #zone and promote a #narrative #change in our #ecosystem. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗖 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮 is a moving film that highlights our work with migrant youth, featuring the story of a Senegalese teenager who, through Barça's social initiatives, was able to rebuild his life and seize new opportunities after arriving in Barcelona alone when he was a minor.   𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗲 was only just 16 years old when he first arrived in Barcelona. Thanks to the socio-educational and sport activities offered by 𝗝𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿+ program, he was able to access vocational training, receive psychosocial support, learn soft skills and  find a job in few months. This program, developed in collaboration with the La Caixa Foundation, is empowering vulnerable youth,  locals and migrants, by providing essential social support also through mentorship.   This film is part of the 𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 produced for us by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions, a 12-episode journey exploring the 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 to shape a better world, from grassroots initiatives to elite levels.
