I am hoping many of you are as excited as we are about the Arca awards. Hopefully, you have already nominated, but you can always nominate more! If you have not nominated someone yet - do it now. It is not fancy or hard. You need to know her name, company and write a small paragraph on why she rocks. No excuses. Heck, nominate yourself. No one can even see who nominated, so go all out and brag yourself up.
All joking aside, I am tired of hearing how there are not enough strong women out there. It is the excuse I get when I ask why the team is still all men - no women applied. Or the panel of speakers at the conference is all male - they don't want to put themselves out there. Don't get me wrong - I love my guys, but there are some wicked chicks out there quietly just getting it done.
Guys, you know them. If you want to be a true ally, then call them out. I refuse to believe that if you just thought about it for 1 minute - heaps of names would come to mind. Nominate them. And tell them you nominated them because it feels great when someone believes in you. Tell me and I will cheer for them.
This is not just for our female CRO (and yes there are quite a few now) or our wonderful HO collections leaders (again 4 out of top 5 banks). This is for the everyday shining star. Our quiet achiever. Our loud ones. Diversity is critical and tired of all these shiny stars hiding in the shadows. If they can not see their own spark - share it to everyone else for them.

2moIf someone has just passed their 30th birthday (i.e. they're 30 plus a few months), can they still be nominated?
