Things to celebrate about #strata number 5. It’s not a zero sum game. Unlike say, an AFL season, which has 18 teams fighting over a single winner’s name etched into the premiership cup, there is no single prize in strata. There are more opportunities to flourish and thrive than any one or two companies can take on. As a consequence, the management community is a collaborative one. We experience genuine relationships being formed between people who would otherwise be cutthroat competitors. I like to think that’s kind of special. Maroon’s win 6-5 to bring our record to 4-1, but I want to delve deeper into my Derby victory and my investment angles… I have been betting on horses for well over two decades, along with sports, stocks and just about anything I feel like I have an edge on, so here it is. I’ve been successful consistently in two races over the years, the Kentucky Derby and the Haskell, but on big race days overall like the Breeders Cup I usually don’t do as well. Case in Point they are both 3 year old races, meaning they can only race it once in their careers… With the exception of Citi during the 2000’s which I would trade between levels I rarely ever go back to a stock. My investment philosophy works for me, and it definitely pushes me more towards real estate then liquid options, since I don’t have the time or energy to keep up with the data… That’s why I find managers I trust when I diversify! how about you?
