💡 IOC launches Olypmpism365. Why more and more sports organisations are looking to have their innovation hub? The International Olympic Committee – IOC is creating its innovation hub to fund sports development projects until 2026. Together with Beyond Sports, a foundation that invests in organisations that use sport to impact communities positively, and Women Win, a fund that supports and empowers women's sport, the Olympic body has created Olypmpism365 to facilitate networking and communication between sport and innovation leaders, as well as to channel innovative proposals for sport projects from up to 50 sport disciplines in more than 70 countries. 🎙 Ollie Dudfield, IOC Olympism365 Associate Director, explained: “The Olympism365 Innovation Hub will ensure that new ideas and technologies are used to maximise the social impact of sport. It will help generate and implement innovative approaches that use sport and Olympism to contribute to sustainable development.” The overarching goal of Olympism365 is to catalyse collective action and innovation, helping to realise the potential of sport as a force for good. 🧠 There is a certainty, that sports organisations want to have their innovation hub. There is a growing tendency in the sports industry in which several properties have launched their innovation hubs with specific categories where they are looking for improvement such as fan experience, sports performance, and fan engagement, among several more. Teams and competitions choose to have their own creative, management and technological spaces to find solutions to their problems and new business opportunities. ➡ There are several sports organisations and competitions that have joined this trend of having their hubs or challenges, for example: ▪ NBA ▪ LaLiga ▪ MLS ▪ UEFA ▪ Australian Open 📈 Today, sports institutions have a perspective that goes far beyond sports; they create software, promote startups, develop programmes and much more. And seeing the success that these initiatives have had; the trend will continue to grow. #sportsindustry #innovation #IOC #innovationhub #sportsinnovation
