Some 44 magnificent vessels are now confirmed for The Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025 – meaning the Granite City is set to host the largest fleet of this year’s world-class event. Organisers are now on track for their target of welcoming 50 Tall Ships to Port of Aberdeen, transforming the harbour in the heart of the city into a “forest of masts” to delight the hundreds of thousands of visitors expected to flock to the event. The ever-growing number of vessels taking part – including 17 magnificent Class A Tall Ships – is bound to generate even more excitement with less than six months to go until the Races berth in Aberdeen from 19 to 22 July. Details of all the confirmed ships can be found on the Tall Ships Aberdeen website. Race registration is open until 1 May and Aberdeen’s most recent ship sign-ups are Mexican Navy ship ‘Cuauhtémoc’, the youngest of Poland’s Tall Ships’ ‘Fryderyk Chopin’, and ‘LOA’, an impressive three-masted schooner hailing from Denmark. The Tall Ships Races 2025 will take the fleet through Le Havre, Dunkirk, Aberdeen, Kristiansand, and Esbjerg, promising an unforgettable summer of international maritime celebration. Vanessa Mori, Deputy CEO of Sail Training International, said: "All the host ports will offer incredible experiences for the fleet, but six months out, it’s clear that many will converge in Aberdeen. Over the last two weeks, I completed my 15th race from Chicago to Mackinac and my first Bayview to Mackinac race. In total, this was 537 nautical miles of sailing through all conditions. We saw storms that crippled boats ahead and led to a man overboard rescue, and light to no breeze, requiring much patience and focus to keep the boat moving. It took a team of 14 people and their families supporting each other along the way to make this possible. Every time I come home from a Mac race, I feel like my cup is full again. From getting in the groove of tuning our sails to optimize our speed at all times, to the laughs that make you cry, and the camaraderie of the sailing community when you hit the island, there’s nothing I’d rather take a break from work to do. This year, our team has focused on giving an extra 10%. We’ve improved our communication, tried new techniques, and have learned to trust each other even more to do our jobs well. The extra effort that we’ve put in shows. I firmly believe that this translates to more than just sailing. I can take a step back to apply what I’ve learned over the past 20 years of racing sailboats to other aspects of my life, including my team at work. If we can all put in even just an extra percent, this will be visible in our products, user satisfaction, and satisfaction within our jobs. P.S. If you’d like to make sure you’re optimizing your % of returns while tuning your financial strategy, check out M1 and take advantage of an extra APY boost on your savings. https://lnkd.in/gBx9zda6

Red Bull Rampage is about so much more than the tricks and arguing about the scoring. I was lucky enough to be able to a cover this year’s event, and set out to try and find some new angles on what must be one of the most reported on events in mountain biking. I’ve had some great feedback, so I’m feeling pretty chuffed about what I accomplished on the ground. It’s not an easy environment to work in - especially when I added camping into the mix for the second half of the week. There are more features to come, but for now, here’s the on the ground articles. If you don’t ‘get’ Rampage, give these a go and see if I help change your mind. https://lnkd.in/e_Ku9Q7S https://lnkd.in/e-66W5gb https://lnkd.in/ew3UiMze https://lnkd.in/eSjkhsT5 https://lnkd.in/eGeXHuWw

Today marks my 8th race with NYRR this year. Each race brings its own highlights that keep me motivated. For today’s run: 1. Inspiring Encounter: At one point, someone bumped into me and apologized. I didn’t turn around immediately, just waved it off, as bumping into others is commonplace in races. When I did turn, I noticed he only had half of his right arm, which explained why he couldn’t control his swings. I felt a mix of gratitude and empathy. 2. Rainy Challenge: The race took place in heavy rain, with water pouring down like cats and dogs. My shoes made a lot of squeaking noise, and I was soaking wet—beyond wet, actually. However, the temperature in the 80s was much better than the usual 90-100 degrees. Additionally, running alongside so many people made the power of community palpable. 3. Smooth Logistics: Dropping off and picking up my bag was a breeze! The volunteers were amazing, fast, and professionally organized. I appreciated the great efficiency of the NYRR team and the runners, whose day jobs likely contribute to efficiency for the human race. For a moment, I felt proud to be part of this community. The distance for today’s race was too short and the incremental weather made it unlikely a PB, in other words, like many things, it is likely lost in memory lane - however, those highlights would stay with me for a long time, and continue to motivate me and keep me going.
