You may not know this about me! . . . I studied Hospitality at university and worked in the industry for 7 years. It was only due to a recurring knee injury that required multiple surgeries and an orthopaedic surgeon’s recommendation that stopped me from continuing my career in this field. I learnt so much within that time… 🌟 How to read people quickly and, more importantly, how to act accordingly. 🌟 How to manage time effectively, applying the one stop shop method at all times. 🌟 How to build rapport and relationships with people in a supportive and productive way. 🌟 How to communicate clearly and solve problems logically in often stressful situations. 🌟 How to provide the best service and of the highest quality in whatever it was I was responsible for. 🌟 How to deal with challenging and confronting customers (and colleagues) with diplomacy and tact. Although I am no longer part of the hospitality profession, I have used every skill that I learnt and practised all those years ago every day since, and especially today in my own business. #LifelongSkills #TransferableSkills #SelfDevelopment #PersonalAttributes #CPD

I want to talk about the parent career gap in #orthopaedic sales. Orthopaedics is one of the most lucrative and competitive areas in medical devices sales - it attracts top class graduates, ODPs and sports people. The problem orthopaedic reps often have is that it is a role requiring long hours, on call work and unsociable hours. Especially true of trauma work. All of this leads to a real challenge for working parents, especially in two rep families (yes it's common for these people to marry each other). One parent generally ends up taking on all of the responsibilities for school runs etc. What can the industry do to keep talent in the therapy area, prevent deskilling, prevent a gender pay gap (I'm generalising but because maternity/paternity legislation in the UK is stuck in the dark ages, it's usually women who take the career hit) and provide genuinely good opportunities for experienced people in orthopaedics - and medical device sales more generally? There are some businesses doing exciting things in this area, who might have the answer. If this post resonated with you - get in touch.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Next Generation of Podiatrists Will Gain Successful Employment When Accessing the Only Study Solution that Addresses the Challenges of Daunting Board Examinations Employers throughout the U.S. have had to revoke offers of employment when podiatrists have not successfully passed board examinations. This problem impacts employers and podiatrists who have invested in their futures and are frustrated with not having the correct resources to succeed in sitting for exams. The Goldfarb Foundation has provided a much-needed solution to this issue, designing a studying tool, The Podiatry Pro Series, that not only equips podiatrists with the necessary resources to prepare for exams but also brings a sense of relief to employers who can now be confident in their new hires' preparation. It’s the only podiatric studying solution of its kind that bundles all resources together in one compartment that’s accessible 24/7. Board President Jeff Dunkerly, DPM, states, “The Pro Series takes the guesswork out of studying so that our rising podiatrists can confidently gain employment when passing their boards.” The Goldfarb Foundation (https://lnkd.in/e_4cGS4w) has led podiatry education for over 50 years. Why some GP struggle professionally and financially yet some thrive and love dentistry? Below apply to ENDO as well: This guy was swollen (Please DONT send him away to take antibiotics), still is a little from #28 and 29 He can only afford one extraction today so #29 is it (Affordability is the 2nd biggest hurdle to our income) He has been to several GP's and all told him to take antibiotics and when it is better to see the OS (1. Lose—lose 2. This is a lack of skill but also a lack of willingness to produce / help 3. This is exactly what make someone who is successful Vs. many who struggle financially. No willingness and / or no skill) He ain't better and he hasn't been to the OS (How surprising!) Somebody (neighbor I think) told him to come to me (Word of mouth referral is THE most effective and FREE) 3 carps 301 and 151 forcep less than a minute (1. How hard was that? 2. Win — Win)

Final Year Undergraduate Prosthetics and Orthotics Student @ SVNIRTAR , India | OPAI Student Member | UNICEF Donor Member | Writer (Pen nane-Disha Swain) | Public Speaker
The field of Prosthetics and Orthotics is an indispensable pillar of rehabilitative healthcare, yet it remains underappreciated in its professional recognition. Practitioners in this discipline skillfully integrate clinical expertise, biomechanics, and advanced engineering to restore mobility and independence for individuals with physical impairments. Despite the profound impact of their work, the profession often lacks the recognition and institutional support it deserves. Elevating Prosthetics and Orthotics to a fully recognized profession is not merely a formality—it is a necessity to ensure continued innovation, advanced training, and improved patient outcomes. Professional acknowledgment would empower practitioners to further drive transformative progress in rehabilitative care, ultimately enriching the lives of those they serve.
Let's shine a spotlight on the incredible work of Prosthetists and Orthotists in India! 🇮🇳 #Prosthetics #Orthotics #HealthcareProffesional
Prosthetist and Orthotist (P&O) need to be recognized professionally. We're asking for recognition, we want clear professional titles, and we want to be on the same level as other healthcare professionals. If not us, then consider the #WHO. #Shout_out_loud🦾 #Prosthetist #Orthotist #Healthcareheros #Raise_your_voice #JusticeforPandOs

What does your tree grow? Engaged in a conversation today that gave further admiration for my field and the inspiring people in it. We were discussing a local RDH that started their own Independent practice (fantastic!) and had me thinking about all the branches within Dental Hygiene: •Clinician •Educator •Business owner •Promotor •Sales •Research •Public health To think that’s just the surface level of options! Your career and passion is a flourishing tree. Nothing wrong with watering to maintain and grow more sprouts in an already thriving direction. There’s also the option of pruning to start again with a solid base and extending further. The choice is yours in whatever field you are in, and each experience will always contribute to the next 🌳 #dental #career #options #transition #dentalhygiene #opportunity #growth #education
