Hosted by the All Star Giving Foundation the event features local experts from a variety of fields sharing their career experiences and advice. Our team loves what we do and loves helping our patients, so we were thrilled to participate! This week our team was in Denver with school counselor corps grantees talking ICAP, blurring counseling domains- social emotional, academic and career & exploring work based learning and other interventions Some of the things we heard: -How do we get to career advising when we have students not getting basic needs met? -How do our counselors connect better with CTE teams to get exposed to trends in the labor market? -How do we address barriers to accessing work based learning? -How do we know we’re reaching students that need in school career development the most? -How do we start career interventions earlier so that students see themselves in top jobs? And what are they already doing? -Bringing employers in as a partner in planning WBL -Connecting student interests with their academic and career goals -Bringing parents and families into the conversation

What advice would you give to a Year 12 student about preparing themselves for the future?
Last week the Haileybury Careers team hosted the inaugural Future Ready Festival for our Senior School students. The Future Ready Festival connected students with industry experts, representatives from the Old Haileyburians Association (OHA), and tertiary institutions to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in an increasingly complex and competitive world. Students heard personal career narratives from OHA representatives, learned about various study areas, and explored emerging industry trends. These insights were invaluable for our students. The Future Ready Festival inspired our students to embrace new opportunities and look forward to their futures with confidence.

Fostering diverse culture through Coaching | Leadership development | Employee engagement | Growth enablement
In October I had the great pleasure to host a meeting with fellow Employer Advisors under the Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership. This organisation supports local secondary schools by finding relevant volunteers from the business world who work with the schools to help them develop their career advice. This ensures a closer connection from school and business and is a much needed alignment. Our Graduates Tom Davidson and Juliet Stephenson joined the session too and it told their story of transitioning from school to uni to business. There were tons of questions posed to both and they did a fantastic job explaining the challenges they faced that we can learn from. Thank you Kate Evans and Allison Giles for all you do to empower the young minds and future talent to get the best opportunities they can.
