What is your leadership style? A question I've often been asked in interviews but the responses are always so generic, couldn’t we be asking more thought provoking questions? Your leadership style will be heavily shaped by those who have managed you across your career. That is how we learn good (or bad) leadership. One of my top leadership tips: Always be someone who is reliable and trustworthy, so that the people you connect with know they can count on you. This is important whether you’re hiring them or they’re hiring you.

If you are hiring, you need to stop doing this: Interviewing people and not sending them personalized feedback on why you did not select them. Once you have met the person, you showed your face, you connected with another human being. The least you can do is to send personalized feedback. They will have closure and learn. It makes all the difference. It's good for the candidate experience. Good for your brand. Good for your company's brand. Everybody wins. Never close doors.
