'Ripples have nowhere they go'
The line above is from one of the poems in my recently published poetry collection, Unnoticed Presence of Things.
I was to talk about a cardinal attribute of success that the highly gifted lack, as written about by Robert Green in his #Mastery.
It happens to be diligence. But we must not think of diligence aloof of the relevant context. Diligence and focus share a symbiotic relationship.
Therefore, in linking diligence to success, the chief question to ask is: in what am I diligent? Or preferably, in what should I be diligent? An answer to this question automatically brings focus to the fore.
I believe it was Waldo Emerson who said that there are two days in a man's life, the day he's born, and the day he finds out why.
However, it is a scary affair to question ourselves, possibly because we hardly like the truth when it's about us, and that illusion is a soft landing.
Time to be more than a ripple and have somewhere to go.
As we say at Grey Carrots, be the first.
Today, this week, answer these three simple questions:
1. Where will you be the first to go?
2. What will you be the first to do?
3. Which of our services will you be the first to engage?
