A few years ago, Spotlight PA launched a new weekly newsletter to highlight the beautiful places, amazing people, and incredible food of Pennsylvania. Smart, engaged people come at the news from all different directions, and we wanted to provide a softer introduction to our vital statewide work. So you can imagine how THRILLED we are that the newsletter, PA Local, was just named best newsletter portfolio by the Online News Association. Our small but mighty team topped our fellow finalists The Boston Globe and Wall Street Journal. From investigative stories to engagement projects to newsletters, our work in all areas has been honored with some of the most prestigious awards this year. And while we don’t do it for these honors, it shows just how unique and high quality our work is — all in service to Pennsylvanians, every single day.
