Spout Pouch Delamination Case #1 Analysis   On March 20th, 2023, I was contacted by one of my Uruguayan customers regarding a quality issue with a sample bag they had received. The bag in question was a spout pouch, manufactured by a local flexible packaging factory, and was intended for use in the packaging of cleaning products. Upon inspection, it was evident that the bag had significant quality problems.   Subsequently, on April 25th, 2023, I received the spout bags via FedEx. Upon opening the parcel, I was immediately met with a strong smell of laundry detergent, and further examination revealed a bag with a serious delamination problem.   Upon further analysis, it became apparent that there were three key reasons for the quality issues observed with the spouted pouch.   The first issue pertained to the contact layer of the bag. It was evident that the wrong type of contact layer (LLDPE) had been used in the production of the bag. The strong smell of laundry detergent indicated that an ordinary grade of LLDPE had been utilized, which is only suitable for granular or powdered food or non-food products. Given the highly corrosive nature of laundry detergent, a modified grade of the contact layer should have been used to resist its corrosion.   The second issue related to the material structure of the spout pouch. The bag was made of PET/LLDPE, with a total thickness of 200 microns. However, as previously mentioned, this material structure is not suitable for the production of bags with a capacity of more than 200ML. The best material structure for packing laundry detergent should have been PET/Nylon/LLDPE, which would have been more effective in isolating the smell of the contents.   The third and final issue was the lamination problem. The delamination of the spout pouch was directly attributed to the aforementioned contact layer and material structure problems. The use of the wrong glue and solvent during the lamination process, specifically an ordinary grade instead of a modified grade, further exacerbated the issue. The use of modified glue and solvent could have greatly reduced the delamination problem, even with the incorrect material structure.   Original post link: https://lnkd.in/efEm3jQC More reference sample and valued article about spout pouch: https://lnkd.in/eQx7JV7B   #spoutbags #spoutpouch #spoutedpouch #standingpouch #standinguppouch #standpouch #doypack #standuppouch #standupbag #pouchstandup #pouchwithspout web: www.fenbopackaging.com Email: fenbopacking@gmail.com Whatsapp: +86-13556326469
