Through virtual sessions, Spread a Smile’s entertainers are able to reach children and young people at home, providing special moments of fun and laughter. 🙂 If a child is isolating in between treatment stages, not able to go to school or spend time with friends and wider family, our virtual sessions provide a chance for connection and entertainment. They include magic, music, storytelling, arts and crafts and much more and we also run virtual group sessions so that children can meet, chat and engage with other young people. 👭💕 Thank you to this lovely young man and his Mum for sharing this clip of him enjoying a session with Spread a Smile’s Mr Magic. 🪄 If you're interested in finding out more about supporting this important area of our work, then please get in touch with our Head of Fundraising by emailing imogen@spreadasmile.org #fridayfeeling #fridayreels #magic #entertainment #SpreadaSmile

Calling on my LinkedIn community for help! On October 11, we’re hosting the Notes of Friendship Benefit Concert in Downtown Woodstock and looking for supportive businesses to get involved. We're $9,000 away from reaching our fundraising goal for Erin’s Hope for Friends (EHFF), a small but mighty nonprofit that supports teens and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. If you know businesses or individuals who might be interested, please connect them with me! Your help can make a huge difference! 😍 Sponsorship Guide: https://lnkd.in/ekpPHMGP We also have opportunities for individuals to support—bring friends and buy a table, or purchase a seat to donate so someone served by the organization can enjoy the concert! ------------ About Erin's Hope for Friends: Erin’s Hope for Friends (EHFF) is a local nonprofit with a mission close to our hearts: fostering meaningful friendships and support systems for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Since 2016, our E’s Club has provided over 5,000 teens and young adults with a safe and welcoming environment to connect, be themselves, and build lasting relationships without fear of judgment or social isolation. Friendships are significant for individuals with ASD. Unfortunately, 60% of them experience bullying, with high schoolers targeted most often. These experiences may lead to anxiety, depression, social isolation, and even suicidal thoughts. Providing these individuals the opportunity to make friends in a supportive environment can significantly reduce these risks and enhance their overall well-being. Learn more: erinshopeforfriends.org

Part 1 🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭 Hello 👋🏾 👋🏽👋🏻 Just sharing an amazing experience that should definitely be shared with our young people. I was given the privilege by one ☝🏾of my awesome 🤩 volunteer. 2 tickets 🎫 were purchased for me & I took my “sidekick , my better me” @neshaa32 . We don’t do theatre 🎭 which is weird especially as this was a musical. It was a musical with a difference..it was all in RAP. Omg 😦 it was amazing, the dance that’s associated with rap as well as the attitude, was all told in a history format. If you want children to learn we can encourage this by using the music that is in our culture to teach Children to learn. In this case it was the history of Hamilton. The main cast were people of colour & they were fantastic. As I said I don’t do musicals but if there’s another show like this , I will definitely go & see it. The tickets are expensive so my campaign: for local government & local councils & the Arts should be able to find funds that will allow our children to be able to experience something that could potentially change their lives. Rap is always association with negativity, but this play & the way that it was done shows that rap could be used to empower, change how people use certain words change, how people see the world improve on their English literature, while having fun learning something that otherwise would not interest them . This should be added to our education under heading The Arts 🎭 The government has taken away -Economics -Childcare & early years development -Metal work & woodwork for creativity and using your hands. -Sports & well-being for a healthy lifestyle & to be able to choose the right choices -Arts and craft, we have many talented children & young people in Hackney, that are not given the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents. #addthistoeducation #theatreforall #disadvantagedchildren #childrenandyoungpeople #opportunities #equityforall #fundingforyoungpeople #rapmusic #rap #musicalsusingrapmusic #blackactress #blackactors #hamilton #hamiltonmusical #theatrediscounts #tickets #youngpeople #costoflivingcrisis #givethemachance #shine REVIEW IN THE NEXT CLIP.

Our first weekly planning meeting with some of our LIKHAYA Founding Member artists! At LIKHAYA, we believe: - Meetings should be in person. Strong relationships are hard to build through a screen; - 25% of our time together should be in a "play" state. This means, if we have two hours scheduled to meet, we save 30 minutes to play together. Today we had a jam session in my basement. Other days we may listen to music, look at art, etc. The only rule is it's fun. Why? Play is a form of compensation. Some dogs, for example, would choose to be "paid" with play (a tug of war with the owner) vs food. Since we are all volunteering our time to one another to help with commercialization, it's important we have time to have fun. Otherwise, we are not going to build the momentum needed to achieve the high goals we have set for ourselves.

Award-winning copywriter and content marketing strategist; host of the Kiddos in the Kitchen podcast; sometimes instructor; all-the-time baseball mom
I want to take a moment to highlight an incredible client doing truly meaningful work: Actors PLAYground. Amber Ryan Cepkauskas, the owner and creative director, along with her husband, Matt Cepkauskas, have poured their hearts into creating a space where kids can not only learn the art of theater but also build confidence, find their voices, and develop skills like empathy and teamwork. It’s not just about acting—it’s about helping young people grow into their authentic selves. Amber has deep roots in theater, and Actors PLAYground is her labor of love. This year, they’re going all in: leasing a space, casting shows and seeking grant funding to keep this dream alive. And they’re investing in doing it right—while still respecting the reality of a nonprofit budget. I’ve had the privilege of working with Amber and Matt before, and they are, simply put, amazing humans. And they surround themselves with talented, kind-hearted people who share their passion for helping kids thrive. Getting to collaborate with them on this journey has been a professional high point for me. As many of you know, youth activities are rarely about creating future stars—they’re about teaching life lessons. Theater teaches skills that carry kids forward for life: confidence, collaboration, creativity. Amber and Matt know this, and they’ve built something special that deserves our attention. If you’re looking for a way to support a local nonprofit that’s making a difference in kids’ lives, I highly encourage you to learn more about Actors PLAYground—and if you're so inclined, consider donating to help them continue this important work. 1 Corinthians 13 King James Version 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity(love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
