This week’s Construction Industry Council of Westchester & Hudson Valley Weekly Newsbrief highlighted the start of work for the $23.9 Million Flood Mitigation Project along US Route 6/State Route 202 at the Annsville Circle (Contract D265217) on which ECCO III Enterprises, Inc. is serving as Lead Contractor. 🙌 👏 This Project will raise the profile of the road by two (2) to seven (7) feet above the existing pavement and realign it further north to alleviate flooding issues. This will create a more resilient connection which will be safer and operate more reliably in extreme weather events. ✅ This Annsville Circle Project will be one of the first NYS Department of Transportation projects to use lightweight fill material (foamed glass) manufactured from recycled glass which will provide an environmentally-friendly alternative to typical fill materials. ✅ This Contract will also utilize geosynthetic reinforced soil technology to stabilize the edges of the embankment, utilizing layers of engineered materials to strengthen and hold the soil in place. ✅ The ECCO III Enterprises, Inc. Team is off to a great start and has prepared thoroughly to ensure the successful execution of this critical Project! 👏

Entracon Civil is currently working on the Landscape and Boardwalk project @ Minta Estate in Berwick. We have completed multiple projects in this estate as part of the Stormwater Management Plan from 2021 to 2023 which includes Wetland 3, Wetland 4, Minta Farm Embankment works and the East West Channel. Key aspects of these projects include but are not limited to establishing significant environmental measures to enable construction in environmentally sensitive areas, using sheet piles to enable pit construction for outfalls into the existing lake, construction of overflow spillway & overflow pipework, stabilisation of existing lake embankment and 50,000 m3 of earthworks. #MintaEstate #StormwaterManagement #WetlandConstruction #Earthworks #EntraconCivil

Perry's Construction Stormwater Tip No. 69: When two Silt Fences are joined, it should be done right (This is not right). In this case, the two end posts should have been wrapped at least twice and the stake bundle then driven into the ground. Also, the installation would have been much better using the off-set installation procedure that is now the preferred method.
