Case for maximum energy and minimum emission... The world is on its way to being home to 9.7 billion people by 2050!! We are already an 8 billion strong family, driving energy demand to grow at around 2-3% every year, with countries like India pushing up their energy demand by 7-8% annually. In this context, I found the message by UAE's Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, quite profound, "The world needs all the solutions it can get. It is not oil and gas, or solar, not wind or nuclear, or hydrogen. It is oil and gas and solar, and wind and nuclear, and hydrogen. It is all of the above, plus the clean energies yet to be discovered, commercialized and deployed" His full interview can be found at: https://lnkd.in/ezHT_5nG #EnergySecurity

🌍 EHAB - Esmaeilzadeh Holding had the privilege of hosting Professor Jan Blomgren for an insightful breakfast session delving into the complexities of Sweden's energy system. Did you know that decades of poor political decisions has casted a shadow over the Sweden's energy future? Jan explained his concerns looming over Sweden's resurgence of coal and wood as primary energy sources, and highlighted the urgent need for strategic action. He remains optimistic, seeing a potential wake-up call on the horizon regarding the critical role of energy in society. However, he made a cautionary note on the economic and industrial ramifications, particularly in Sweden, given its heavy reliance on electricity-intensive exports. Blomgren also emphasized the pivotal role of Sweden's nuclear fleet. He posited that with cohesive policy frameworks in place, rather than succumbing to subsidies and market fluctuations, today's energy landscape could have been markedly different... We found this topic very thought provoking and interesting. What do you think? Thank you Jan for joining us. #GreenSteel #EnergyCrisis #Sustainability

Britain once boasted of its title - the land Sun never sets, but now China 🇨🇳 says Sun rises and sets according to their will. Of course it is the artificial Sun. And...the Sun doesn't belong to China exclusively. As per Chinese Media Group, the experiments involved 17 renowned research institutes and universities worldwide, including the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission and Kyoto University in Japan. It asserts China’s commitment to international cooperation in addressing the global energy crisis. https://lnkd.in/giMrJxCe

Singapore hosted the inaugural Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (#IPEF) Clean Economy Investor Forum last week. Here's a recap of 3 key outcomes: 1️⃣ The 14 IPEF members inked a clean economy agreement focused on 3 new work programmes, including one on nuclear energy. The programme on small modular reactors (SMRs) aims to help partners develop the supply chains, infrastructure and workforce needed to deploy them safely, as a source of clean energy. 2️⃣ A coalition of investors committed US$25b to infrastructure investments in IPEF countries. 3️⃣ 20 investment-ready projects – including industrial parks, special economic zones, energy, waste management and water and transport – were presented to investors, and 49 climate tech startups pitched for US$2b in investments. IPEF governments also announced new funds and groupings to pursue clean economy investments and projects, covering hydrogen supply chains, regional power interconnectivity/cross-border electricity trade, and energy storage.
