In my recent flight with family from Dubai to Brussels, the Emirates crew offered to take a family pic with Polaroid to keep it as a memory. This is not a random act but rather comes from a deep insight about people travelling to tourist destinations. It does not cost much for the airways but surely will create customer delight and positive word of mouth (like this one). When it comes to service businesses it's the small things that make all the difference. Dubai International Airport (DXB) had a great start to 2024 by becoming the busiest airport globally in January. According to data from aviation consultancy OAG, DXB, home to Emirates, recorded 5 million seats, surpassing Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL), which dropped to second place with 4.7 million seats. In January 2023, DXB was the second busiest airport, and in 2019, it was the third. OAG also ranked DXB as the busiest international airport in 2023 with 56.5 million seats. This Middle East hub saw a 25% increase in seating capacity compared to the previous year. The rankings are based on the scheduled capacity for the current month and compared to the same month in 2023. The top 10 busiest airports in January included Tokyo International (Haneda), Guangzhou, London Heathrow, Dallas/Fort Worth, Shanghai Pudong, Denver International, Istanbul, and Beijing Capital International. Dubai maintained its position as the busiest international airport, followed by London Heathrow, Seoul Incheon, Singapore Changi, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Hong Kong International, Doha, Paris Charles de Gaulle, and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International. #Dubai #airport #International #data #rankings #place
