On May 8th, the WarsawJS Meetup #114 is happening, so it's high time to present the scheduled talks. The first one, opening the event, is a real gem! 🥇 The first speaker to grace our stage is the magnificent Tomasz Ducin! Tomasz is a developer, architect, and independent consultant at Ducin IT Consulting. He is a co-founder of the architekturanafroncie.pl website, which aids development teams in improving the overall quality and architecture of their systems. He is also the creator of the site. He advocates for sensible and long-term solutions for the JS ecosystem and criticizes the overuse of trendy terms. He has experience in both frontend and backend development. As a trainer, he is passionate about explaining how things work and focuses on questioning whether they are necessary or not. A former theater actor. Probably addicted to coffee, definitely addicted to music. And what will he talk about? 👨🏫 Back in the game: Recent Revolutionary Changes in Angular 👨🏫 Angular has been perceived as a rather complex framework by some, yet it's used massively by enterprise-scale systems. Whether we agree with the criticism or not, the framework is undergoing a monumental transformation. In recent months, Angular is experiencing a period of frequent and significant updates and - at least considering previous years of stagnation - groundbreaking changes. These include not only the features, public API and architecture, but also the mental models that developers come up with. Integrating a basic GET API route using Expo Router V3 in React Native. This feature represents the first step towards making the Expo ecosystem increasingly resemble the world of Next.js, essentially evolving the Expo router into a comprehensive full stack framework. Note that this experimental feature is focusing on data retrieval only - without SSR capabilities (at least for the moment 😆). Super handy when building a small full stack project, or query an external service without exposing your API key on the client side.

🐦 Learn how to "mock" native calls in Expo modules The term "Mocking" means to replace the actual implementation of a function with a fake version that does not perform any actions. This approach is useful for running unit tests on a local computer as it involves bypassing the need for native code which is only available on a device, and any code that calls native functions on a local machine will not work. https://lnkd.in/gwrpc_fc

😁As February begins, I reflect on January's experiences, diving into accessibility, artificial intelligence, and engaging with the community. Let's recap the highlights! 📕Journey into Web Accessibility: One significant focus for me was improving accessibility, I started exploring the basics and learning how the HTML semantics help with it, and also played and tested with screen readers and worked with images! If you're curious, check out my two articles 👇 - 📖 How to Start with Accessibility https://lnkd.in/dQVz_WMg - 📖 Web Accessibility: Working with Images and Content https://lnkd.in/dGY3axyD 🧠 Exploring AI: I had a big despite about IA last year, but after the release of the Gemini SDK, I started to play with Gemini and Progress Telerik. I learned how to seamlessly integrate and build solutions combining Gemini and Progress Telerik components for building an IA Chat. Check out my two articles: 👇 📖 Create Your Personalized Gemini Chat with Kendo UI and Angular https://lnkd.in/d9QiesAf 📖 Gemini ChatSession with Kendo Conversational UI and Angular https://lnkd.in/dUwRgUH6 🦜Tech Talk Angular Signals at HARBOUR SPACE: Wrapping up the month on a high note, I enjoyed participating in a great tech talk about Angular Signals at HARBOUR.SPACE with GDG Barcelona, and Alan Buscaglia. Checkout the slides 👉https://lnkd.in/dRB4bQSd Thanks to GDG Barcelona, HARBOUR.SPACE, Alan Buscaglia, and everyone involved has made January amazing. ✨ #accessibility #talks #angular #gemini #web #frontend

'' Attending the Nextjs Conf 2024 '' Next.js Conf 2024, hosted by Vercel, is set to take place on October 24, 2024, in San Francisco as well as virtually. The event will bring together developers and industry leaders to explore the latest advancements in the Next.js framework and modern web development. Expect in-depth sessions on topics like server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and the integration of AI and machine learning. One of the anticipated highlights is the potential release of Next.js 15, which may introduce significant improvements in handling large datasets and enhancing API performance. The conference will also dive into TurboPack, a tool aimed at improving build times, particularly for large-scale projects, and discussions on optimizing JavaScript-heavy sites for SEO performance are expected. Additionally, there will be opportunities for networking, hands-on workshops, and insights into how to leverage these tools for scalable, high-performance applications. hashtag #Reactjs hashtag #Nextjs hashtag #vercelcommunity hashtag #NextjsConf2024event hashtag #Nextjs15

📆✏💻 Feb. 20th && 21st https://lnkd.in/eRqNSmam A summit of speakers on 2024 for Node.js (Node.js 18 LTS) The junior track of speakers is always free and there are some bangers in here I'm excited for: Ways to make JavaScript more like TypeScript while staying in the JS ecosystem, static typing and tools we can use; guide to writing flawless tests and the "game changing" new Node.js Test Runner; how to make REST APIs typesafe with feTS; key architecture principles, design patterns, and technologies for microservices in the Node.js stack. Those are the, massively condensed, abstracts of 4 of the 10 available talks for free that I will be attending virtually. I use node on the backend sometimes and I find that staying up to date with the latest trends is usually how the ecosystem evolves and handles concerns and pitfalls. A free resource we are lucky to have! Take advantage of it! #softwaredeveloper #javascript #typescript #nodejs #skillshare #diy

Day 11 of #100daysofcode ☑ Today, I explored how to build a reusable pop-up modal in React Typescript application using HTMLDialogElement. ☑ Here are some benefits of using HTMLDialogElement that I discovered 1. It reduces the need for third-party libraries to create modal dialogs, thereby decreasing the overall bundle size and improving performance. 2. It provides usability and accessibility features that must be replicated if you use other elements for a similar purpose. 3. HTMLDialogElement has methods like show(), showModal(), and close() to provide an easy-to-use API for displaying and closing dialogs. #100daysofcode #learningtypescript #happycoding
