>> DIFFERENTIATE YOUR BUSINESS WITH BLUE OCEAN ENGINEERING How can we break free from the constraints of traditional market competition and find new growth opportunities? "Innovate!" 🙌 will be the default answer. But value innovation is multifaceted. > It can be customer-centric: better pricing models or support > What about product-centric: better UI/UX or branding > Or engineering-centric: better delivery of features One thing that I'm obsessed with is engineering-centered innovation. Engineering innovation is quite invisible to the end user and thus is highly underrated. Nevertheless, when we talk about innovation and differentiation, we need to think holistically. Red vs. Blue Ocean is a good mental model. Imagine if everyone around you: - is having 1 manager for every 10 employees - is demanding solo developers to work independently - is relying on fixed budgets and timelines This is the red ocean and there's no differentiation if you do the same. Now imagine if you: - empower self-managed teams - demand people work in pairs and mob together - utilize flexible and adaptive resource allocation Now you're in a blue ocean and you're uncontested. I have found 21 strategies how to differentiate your business bottom-up. ✍️ Which lesson resonates most? ♻️ Reshare if these hit home. #OperationalExcellence #BusinessTransformation #FutureOfWork

What is Product Design? Product and Design—two crucial elements that go hand in hand. But what exactly defines product design, and who should be in charge of it? Traditionally, product managers (PMs) have led the charge in building and presenting solutions, but with the rise of AI tools like ChatGPT, it’s time for designers to reclaim their space in solving complex problems. Today’s designers aren’t just creators; they’re problem-solvers with the right blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical skills. In fact, new-age designers, with the right education and expertise, are just as capable of delivering powerful presentations and shaping product strategies as PMs. It’s not about taking sides—it’s about recognizing that designers deserve a seat at the table, too. Management should understand that great design isn’t just an aesthetic; it’s a fundamental part of product success. Let’s empower our designers to lead alongside the PMs in crafting the future! #ProductDesign #DesignThinking #AIDesign #EmpowerDesigners #DesignLeadership #ui/ux designwiztech.com

What is the difference between a good product and an outstanding one? 👉 The answer often lies in the design process, where the priority should be understanding the users and their needs. At MakoLab, we approach product design by way of a comprehensive, empathic study of those needs, along with user behaviours and challenges, and not only by examining our clients’ expectations. What shape does our design process take? 🔎 User study: mapping user experience and behaviour paths. 🔎 Defining the problem and establishing the goals: identifying the key issues and setting the project objectives. 🔎 Digital architecture: well-structured digital architecture is fundamentally important to the success of any platform. Our solution architecture design encompasses strategic alignment of data management, system integration and operational perspectives. 🔎 Project iteration: our designs begin from sketches and wireframes and gradually evolve, through iterative development, into clickable prototypes. We carry out regular testing with users in order to collect their opinions, which are then used as a basis for improving and polishing the design. 🤝 Collaboration: the key is close collaboration between the designers, the programmers and the stakeholders. That is the synergy which ensures that the end product is useable, accessible and functionally rich. Challenges like introducing technology or processes changes in large organisations highlight the importance of aligning with user goals and KPIs. We believe that the measure of a product’s quality is its user impact. By adopting a holistic, user-focused design philosophy, we are not only meeting our clients’ direct needs, but also blazing a trail for sustainable, long-term digital innovation 🔝 Explore how our approach and strategic design can transform your digital business solutions 👉 https://lnkd.in/daPVp2Vv #UserExperience #ProductDesign #ProductReasearch

Design Thinking is Dead. Long Live Design Thinking 2.0. (* a little lunch-break fun with Chat-GPT, inspired by some unsolicited spam inviting me to attend a Design Thinking course!) ------ Remember a few years back when “Design Thinking” was the buzzword of the moment? It promised to transform every aspect of our business practices with its simple, yet effective 5-step process: - Empathize - Define - Ideate - Prototype - Test For some scenarios, like planning an office party or redesigning restroom signs, this approach worked wonders. But let’s be thankful it didn’t dominate all industries. Imagine if your local General Practitioner used Design Thinking in their practice: EMPATHIZE: “Hey John, you can barely walk. That must really suck!” (It does! 😳 ) DEFINE: “Looks like you have a sore back. Is that right?” (You don’t say! 😬 ) IDEATE: “How about surgery, drugs, or physio? I’ve got a few ideas, but let’s ask Google and see what worked for others!” (Hmmm-kayyy 😕 ) PROTOTYPE: “Here are three different drug combinations and a surgery date. And let’s add some physio afterward.” (Riiiight. Thanks so much 🙄 ) TEST: “Let’s see what worked!” Can you spot the missing critical step? INFORMED DIAGNOSTICS. In fields like medicine, historical data and advanced imaging technology allow specialists to bypass endless prototyping. They can accurately diagnose conditions, objectively review proven options, and offer well-researched solutions without unnecessary experimentation. Now, envision Design Thinking 2.0 Integrating the thoroughness of informed diagnostics with the creativity of the original methodology. It’s about combining deep analysis with innovative thinking—less fluff, more focus. Let’s move forward with Design Thinking 2.0 and revolutionize problem-solving with both precision and creativity. Streamline the product design process with a collaborative, adaptable approach. We love Elba Sindoni and Luz Arenas’s framework, designed to improve collaboration and flexibility in product design. It emphasizes adaptability, using the metaphor of origami to highlight the flexibility needed in design processes, which vary depending on project requirements. The framework is structured around phases, milestones, and decision points across two main stages: product discovery and product design. Check out their post: https://lnkd.in/gZtqpm2C Here are the big Orgami ideas: → Framework is flexible, adapting to different project needs → Clear steps guide teams, gathering data and testing ideas → Shares responsibility, reducing delays and improving communication → Works for prototyping, improvements, and full development → Promotes flexibility, collaboration, and better outcomes Here are the large-phase ideas: Product Discovery ↳ Gather ideas, data, and insights to define the problem. Problem Definition ↳ Identify the core problem based on research and data. Lean Validation ↳ Quickly test ideas and solutions to align with user expectations. Solution Delivery ↳ Develop and implement the solution based on insights. Follow-up ↳Monitor and verify the success and performance of the solution We love it. Helio uses a similar type of product design approach. Helio helps teams gather UX metrics, quickly test ideas, and validate solutions throughout the design process with our targeted audiences. It provides fast feedback and ongoing monitoring, ensuring user-centered, data-informed decisions at every phase. #uxresearch #productdiscovery #marketresearch #productdesign
