This blog by NASHP | National Academy for State Health Policy outlines why #BlackMaternalHealth is such an important issue for the country and what states are doing to address the disparities. Like the rest of the country, California is also working on building the clinician workforce. But in the meantime, the state is addressing the issue with the highest priority by tapping into the healthcare workforce to bridge gaps in care by ensuring that Medi-Cal members receive doula, midwife, and community health worker services as a part of their benefits. This isn't enough obviously but it's a start. #HealthEquity
