Thank you to The Logan County Silent Majority for interviewing us to learn more about Grange Solar and the positive impact it will have on Logan County. We were happy to provide more information about the project. We also got to directly address and dispel some of the common misinformation that we see out there about solar and our project. Check it out below.
We’ve heard that Grange won’t benefit Logan County, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Grange will generate over $100 million in new revenue for Logan County, create hundreds of construction jobs and long-term jobs, preserve farmland, reduce pollution, and keep the land in active agricultural use through dual use grazing using sheep.
We’ve heard that this is funded by public tax dollars. It’s not. It will be built using private investment.
We’ve heard that Grange will destroy farmland. That’s just not true. Our project will have storm water management in place, we’ll preserve the topsoil and after decommissioning the land will be returned to the pre-construction state. There’s money that is required to be set aside to ensure it.
We hear that solar will take up all the farmland. False. Even if every single project in Ohio gets approved, it will take up roughly 1% of farmland in Ohio.
