Just hours ago, I made a comment on the wall of my senior expert David Otto MSc, CMAS, IPC on the trend of Coups on the continent, and how it is likely to continue if no clear measures are taken to address the real governance crisis on the continent. I did a prophecy of doom that if strategies like those been harboured by ECOWAS are options that the continent has, then we only need to wait for the next announcement from another courageous soldier! I hope the news coming from Gabon is fictitious. The international community, regional bodies and the African Union need to close it with the actual challenges of democracy in African countries. Whereas Coups are detestable, coup plotters may not be the real problem, those ousted by Coups should equally be checked. Let's think about what the leaders are doing to their citizens too.
