We know that minimal access surgery provides many benefits to patients: smaller incisions, faster recovery times, reduced pain and scarring. We also know manual laparoscopy however can impose significant physical impact on surgeons, with a survey revealing one in five surgeons are considering early retirement due to physical impact of conducting manual laparoscopic surgery. #Versius was designed to address some of the known ergonomic issues that surgeons and surgical teams face in traditional forms of MAS. India got its first 100% Made-in-India multi-procedure surgical robot manufactured by SS Innovations in 2017. The robot was developed by Dr. Sudhir Srivastava – a globally acclaimed robotic cardiac surgeon. He holds the record for the greatest number of robotic Beating Heart Totally Endoscopic Coronary Artery Bypass (TECAB) surgeries. Till now the robots from SSi Mantra has performed 1300+ surgeries. It has been installed at 45 hospitals globally. More than 100 robotic surgeons have been trained till now. The robot has successfully performed various surgeries named robot assisted CABG, LIMA mobilization, lobectomy, trans oral robotic surgery, cholecystectomy, hysterectomy, cystectomy, prostatectomy, nephrectomy and many more around urology, gynaecology, cardiac, thoracic, GI, head and neck and general surgeries. Surgeons use technology to make history with the world’s first, fully robotic heart transplant.    Dr. Feras Khaliel, head of Cardiac Surgery and director of the Robotics and Minimally Invasive Surgery Program at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Saudi Arabia, successfully led the first fully robotic heart transplant in the world.    He along with his team performed this on a 16-year-old patient with end-stage heart failure. They practiced the procedure seven times virtually to get well-versed with it and avoid complications. This surgery, which lasted for two and a half hours is a transformative step that totally changes the path of cardiovascular surgery.   Advanced robotic technologies come with the benefits of being less invasive and complicated.
