How the hell should I introduce this article? I stumbled upon this hilarious and biased piece of writing in a marketing newsletter.
Spoiler alert: this may come as a surprise to some, but I don’t live in the U.S., I won’t be voting there, but I find it fascinating to follow how social media is used in every election. Plus, americans actually have real elections, so it’s interesting to watch.
So the headline promises to explain how the Harris administration uses social media for promotion - well, let’s dive in and find some "insights."
Insights in question:
"Biden and his team were the first to seriously bet on social media as a vital communication tool with the public."
"The White House’s content is distributed organically—they don't spend any money on boosting reach."
"The White House doesn’t use advertising budgets; we don’t have funds for that."
"The White House is not sitting idle and is collaborating with influencers."
"Our boss, President Joe Biden, deserves big praise for not just being open-minded but for embracing this digital world."
"Trump’s presence in social media is marked by a direct, unfiltered style that not only charms his base but also sparks controversy and grabs the media’s attention."
Yet, they keep telling this like it’s gospel truth, even if it's clearly nonsense.
